Best / Worst experience at the stadium
What are your best and worst experiences at a stadium (pro, college, racetrack, whatever).
Worst: At a Titans home game - sat beside a lady who, apparently, had a fog horn for a voice box. Imagine a fog horn shouting "DEEEEEEEEEE - FENSE!" in a slow, booming bass - EVERY play the Titans were defending. Now imagine that fog horn parked on your shoulder. By the end of the game my head hurt and my ears were ringing. Every one around was irritated - even the people she came with were mad at her but she wouldn't stop. Best: Eating a hot dog at a Cleveland Indians home game - the stadium mustard up there absolutely rocks!!!

http://www.stadiummustard.com/index.html My Worst: Joe Louis Stadium - Wings vs. Oilers - 2nd intermission, take a trip to the washroom only to find the line out the door. Once inside, guys are using the sinks as urinals. My Best: Air Canada Centre - Leafs vs. Senators - Playoff game # 1. Leafs actually win.

Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
The Best:
1) old MileHigh watching the zephers with the family and getting my catcher's mit signed back in the 80s. 2) MileHigh (yes the new one), club level at a broncos game, drunk as piss - standing outside the smoking section on the down ramp telling everyone that walked by 'you dropped your pocket' or 'your socks are untied' hahahahahaha clawsomeness to the Nth The Worst: Coors Field in the rockpile, taking a digger down 4 stairs cuz I was distracted by some hawt blonde going the other direction hahahahahaha embarrassment to the Nth

Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
Worst: Bengals game last year when a drunk a-hole behind me threw up 3 times before his buddy took him out of the section. The throw up ran down to my row and by my feet. It is a good thing his buddy took him away b/c my dad and I and the whole row of people were looking at him like we were going to beat the crap out of him
![]() Best: In 2002 and 2003 watching my Elder High School Panthers win the Ohio State Championships back to back. The windchill in 2002 was - a lot. |

Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
Best: My dad took me to Fenway on the day they retired Ted Williams number.
Worst: My two brothers and I along with my six year old son attending his first Pro Football game were at the old Shaeffer Stadium around 1985 watching the Pats. An annoying guy in our row kept getting up to get beer, often while a play was in progress. He was paying virtually no attention to the game. At one point during the third quarter with the Pats driving down the field this guy again gets up and tries again to edge past us. As he edges down the row and tries to get by, my brother, who has had enough of him by now, jumps up, says "No, wait until a time out, you can't go by". A confrontation ensues and during the argument the beer drinker sticks his hand in his jacket pocket and yells " Get the hell out of the way, I've got a gun in my pocket". My genius brother, who was pretty agitated by now, jumps up in his face and yells; "I'll take the bullet!" Fortunately, the beer drinker backed down and exited the row in the other direction. We didn't see any more of him for the rest of the game. The story has become such a part of family history that my son recounted it to the guys in his wedding party this past summer.

Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
Best: Last year at Texas Stadium in my friend's box. The box is right next to the opposing owner's box. We were next to Daniel Snyder and the Redskins brass. Fortunately, the Cowboys won. Perfect Day.
Worst: Texas Stadium. Not sure what year it was, but it was one of the last games of the Aikman, Irvin and Smith era. First round playoff against St. Louis Cardinals. Jake Plummer tore us up. To make matters worse, it was freezing, rainy and my wife was really really sick with a cold. We had to walk forever to and from the stadium. Absolutely miserable.

BEST:
Wrigley Field. Lower level. Just felt like 'old-time' baseball. WORST: EndZone section at Arizona Stadium. Knot-Hole club. LOL. |

Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
Best: Grilling brats and slamming beers in the old County Stadium parking lot and then watching the Brewers get thumped by somebody. Much prefered county stadium to Miller Park. Old one had character the new on is like watching baseball at the mall.
Best: Watching the Astro's Cubs at Wrigley and getting a foul ball. Best: At Camp Randall when the defending champion Buckeyes get knocked off by the underdog Badgers and then storming the field. My first time on field turf. ![]() Best: Williams Arena/Mariucci arena back in the day. Wow are these some dinosaur type arenas but great atmosphere and character. Very intimate and raw compared to a modern arena. I like the new marriucci but it is much more sterile both in cleanliness and in character. Best: Minor league baseball. Always have enjoyed it. Las Vegas Stars, Iowa Cubs, St. Paul Saints, Madison Mallards all good. It's what baseball should be. Close to the players and the game. Entry, food and drinks are affordable. A good time all around. Worst: About any event I ever saw at the metro dome. I remember an 11 inning sleeper Twins vs Rangers where the Rangers won in the 11th I don't remember how and I don't remember caring then.

Best: Texas Stadium in an air-conditioned box.
Worst: every time I've been to Texas Stadium and not sat in an air-conditioned box.

Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
Best: Watching the Richmond Braves face the Charlotte Knights in triple A baseball. It was the year that Richmond just dominated and had all those great players that were called up the next year and helped the Braves win the WS.
Worst: Charlotte Coluseum. WWE Raw is War. Comicbookfreak and I had awesome front row seats in the upper level. These seats were a row of one. None behind those. We got there, they had closed off that section and said we had to sit way up in the very top. Tickets for those seats was much less so we decided that just sukked and we got a refund on the cc and left. Made it home in time to catch the entire show on tv. Still pisses me off! Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
Best: My second game at Kinnick Staduim. Iowa vs Minnesota for the last regular season game of the year. Iowa won big time and I watched Eddie Hinkel catch 4 TD passes.
Not really bad, just annoying: I really haven't had a bad experience at a live game, however last year Iowa played N.Ill in Solider Field. It was great to be there and I went with about 10 friends and we made a weekend out of it in Chicago. My wife and I stayed at the same hotel we honeymooned at 4 years earlier. However when we get to the game I found out how bad some Iowa fans can be. A bottle was thrown and hit my wife's friend in the head. I also could tell by the way Iowa played that game that it was going to be a bad season for them and it was. Other then that though it was a great weekend Last edited by Kneo; 09-17-2008 at 06:43 PM.. |

Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
Best: A Dartmouth/Harvard football game in the early 1960's at Harvard Stadium in a pouring rain storm and Dartmouth scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
Worst: Invited to take a Marine Corps Color Guard to a game in Columbia, SC to present the Colors at a USC/Clemson football game and we were given seats in the Clemson student section. Some asshole puked all over the back of my Dress Blues. We had done the Colors at a Braves game and were put in one of the luxury boxes on another occasion and couldn't buy a drink or food. I am still a USC fan and I think that it was a mistake by the South Carolina management. At least I hope so.

Re: Best / Worst experience at the stadium
Best: Sitting in the Metrodome for Game 7 of the 1987 World Series when the Twins won it all!!!!
Worst: Getting picked off of 2nd base at Midway Stadium after just missing hitting a home run to straight away center field. Actually hit the first 0 in the 400 foot sign on the wall.
