Even facing the tougher defense, you can't sit Romo over a still unproven QB. I know, I know Cassel is doing well, but Miami isn't a good enough excuse to start him over Romo.

No, here is the deal. Not claiming to be an expert, but I know a little bit about the game.

Tony Romo, despite what some people think, is still an unproven quarteback in the league. He is facing one of the better defenses in the NFL these days with a hellacious pass rush (yeah they have Cullen Jenkins, a CMU guy ), and if recent history is any indication, he gets flustered under pressure and makes bad decisions. I would also prefer Green Bay's secondary to Miami's for sure. Plus, he is playing in one of the roughest stadiums for opposing QB's. He almost lost this game last year at home, against a guy named Aaron Rodgers (who also only has two starts to his name, see Matt Cassell), when the visiting Packers fans were causing his O-Line to false start.

Matt Cassell, despite the fact he has started a mere one game in the NFL, still has a ton of weapons around him (Randy Moss, Wes Welker et. al) and a very good offensive line. Couple that with the fact that the Dolphins are probably the second worst football team in football right now and have next to no defensive players left. And he is playing in his first home game as a starter, which assures him plenty of opportunities to get the fans behind him thanks to the Belichek. He will get the green light to air it out this week and should have plenty of opportunity against the weak Dolphin's secondary.

Just my opinion, do whatever you like

Well, I would chip in and help, but apparently I really suck at Fantasy Football. So if you ask me I would start Tavaris Jackson.

Romo has quite alot of weapons too: TO, Whitten, Crayton, and Barber. All of which I'd take over the Patriots starters. Cassel worries me because even though he has all these weapons Moss only caught 2 balls if I'm not mistaken this past weekend. The Green Bay D can be rattled too. Kitna put up I think 3 TD's against them. Also alot of it depends on how your leagues points system is structured.

I would argue that Moss has a far greater advantage this week over Miami's DB's than he did last week against the Jets. Green Bays Defense also picked up two TD's against Kitna and I believe it was 21-0 before Kitna got any points. Cassell had the reigns on him a little bit this past week as they wanted to ease him into the starting role (lots of screens and short routes), but I still think the gloves will be off at home.

Not my team, but I still say Cassell.

True...I will say that once Cassell gets the reps and the timing down with the offense he has a great opportunity to really excel along with putting up some decent fantasy numbers.

Re: Fantasy football help please

I hope to hell I'm wrong because I have Randy Moss on my squad, but I think Belichek goes to the run and stays conservative with the passing game. The Pats have a deep backfield with Maroney, Sammy Morris, Kevin Faulk & Lamont Jordan. Miami's D a lot weaker than the Jets, but I don't think Cassel gets to air it out. Belichek will look for Cassel to keep them in the game, not make mistakes and give them a chance for the victory at the end.

I think you're looking at this from a football strategy perspective, Adam, and not a fantasy perspective. I could care less who wins the real game as long as my fantasy players produce. I had Jake Delhomme a couple years ago. It seemed like the guy was good for 2-3 picks a game -- which always put Carolina in the hole. And forced them to throw. And invariably, he would hit Steve Smith with a couple of 55 yard TD bombs. His QB rating was less than stellar, but his fantasy points were quite good.

I vote Romo.

Re: Fantasy football help please

Romo:TO is a lethal combination and proven.
Cassel:Moss has one game together.

Romo:TO had a good game last night against a very tough Eagles D.
Cassel:Moss can start to get on track vs. a horrible Dolphins D.

I'd go Romo if I had both of them on my roster. In the rating system I subscribe to Romo is ranked 4th this week while Cassel is ranked 17th.

Romo, and I would guess depending on your scoring system that he outscores Brady Light somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 points.

I hate to say it being a Packer fan... but I may start Romo. He did well against Eagles defense and they are pretty tough. Pack has given up big pass plays this year... which TO is good at.
