Going to the Packer vs. Cowboy game!

My buddy got tickets for us to go to the Packer vs. Cowboy game this weekend from his boss. We've been planning to go this game since the schedule came out and we were both willing to spend a couple hundred for tickets. Turns out his boss was going to the Ryder cup and he was going to let us have his tix for face value but at the last minute he just gave them to us for free. Awesome right! There's a hitch.

I'm a Cowboy fan even though I was born in raised in Wisconsin. I've been a fan ever since my Dad (Viking fan from Mn) got me a Herschel Walker football when I was 6. I've never rooted for another NFL team. My buddy is a Packer fan. He says that I have to wear a Packer shirt/jersey to the game and that his boss wants photographic evidence!? This makes me nauseous just thinking about it. I went to the last Cowboy vs. Packer game at Lambeau in 04 and wore my Cowboy gear. I was not obnoxious or abrasive to anyone. If I am forced to wear Packer gear I think that will be obnoxious because I'll be cheering the Cowboys.

I'll probably end up wearing my new Romo jersey my wife bought me for the game and only allow him to take a pic of me in a Packer shirt before I burn it in effigy. Don't know how serious he is.

My question is...As a fan what would you be more offended by 1) An opposing fan wearing opposing colors cheering for his team in YOUR stadium or 2) an opposing fan wearing YOUR team colors in YOUR stadium rooting against YOUR team?

I wouldn't be offended either way. It's all in the spirit of competition. On the contrary, I do get highly annoyed with hometown fans that are disrespectful of opposing fans. If I was forced to wear opposing team color I would just stay at home and watch the game on tv.

Having said that, I'm not offended by fans of opposing teams as long as they act like fans and not jerks. Do what you gotta do!

I say, wear the Cowboy jersey underneath the Packers jersey. After the proof of purchase has been secured, you can always remove the Packers jersey and take it from there and enjoy the game. As far as your buddy and you are concerned "you wore the Packers jersey for the entire game" right?

As a Packers fan I say wear your Cowboy gear and have fun. Lambeau is a great place to watch a game and Green Bay on game day is a great place to be. Slap a Packers shirt on for pics and then bust out the Cowboy gear. As long as you are respectful I am sure those around you will be to.heck you may even meet some cool people and have a blast while the game is going on.
I was there for a Ravens game and had a blast ribbing the Ravens fans while they ribbed me all the while just having fun and not going overboard. If you are there for Saturday night there are a ton of great bars to check out with live music. It will be PARTY time so be ready and have a blast.
No disprespect but I hope the Packers win this one,Dallas has been a pain in our side when it counted(can you say NFC Playoffs in the big D) for to many years. I only wish we could have played the Boys in Lambeau durning some of those playoff games, not that we would have won but it would have been cool to see.

If these tickets where not a gift I would say go in your teams gear but that is not the case. I don't think it would be as bad there as it would be here in philly but if a season ticket holder gives his tickets to someone and they come in the opposing teams gear your friend would never see tickets again and the season ticket holder would get lots of crap all season, or worse.
