Caps off to the Yankees

I think the Yankees closed out Yankee Stadium with a great ceremony. It was entertaining and fun to watch. I am not crazy about it being torn down. It is a shame seeing them tear down one of the last great cathedrals of the game. But they did it with dignity.

And as a life long Red Sox Fan, it is nice to have the last great memory of the stadium being the 2004 ALCS

As a lifelong Red Sox fan I watched, but I was praying for the O's to win. A loss would have officially eliminated them from the playoffs and clinched us at least the outright WC, and I thought that'd be kinda funny. But it was a nice ceremony they put on, I can give em that.

What was with the players standing in the outfield that represented old timers? I thought that was lame.
Anyway, the YES network did a great job.

I caught the ceremony after the game. I was never a Yanks fan, but I respect Yankee stadium.

Having been to the stadium hundreds of times since I was about 6 years old, I will miss Mr. Ruth's house. My father was there in 61 along with my grandfather to see Maris break the HR record. My whole family is from the Bronx so going to games has always been a family tradition. I think they did a great job and really showed an appreciation for the fans that was well deserved.

also a sox fan, i watched, good ceremony it's always cool seeing all the old old players..

gotta say that i hate wade boggs even more, i wish the HOF would change his plaque so that it's wearing a yankee cap. he's such a tool, all my friends and family don't even acknowledge him as a yankee... arod too.

Re: Caps off to the Yankees

The Wifge and I watched the game last night. I am a die hard Yankees fan, she, a die hard sox fan. By the end of the game, she actually admitted to having a tear in her eye. She thanked me for taking her there a few years ago to see a Yanks/Sawx game. She even admitted to getting chills walking into the Cathedral. I told her that she still owes me a trip to Fenway.

She however did find it ironic that the first home run hit there was by a former Red Sox player, and one of the las was hit by a former Sawk (Johnny Damon)
