Too bad CBS won't show real ultimate fighting. This Kimbo dude is BS.

My only fear is that Shamrock will agree to a work, and end up giving more credibility to Kimbo. Not that I have anything against him, but I would like him to fight a quality opponent that has not been suspected of works in the past!

Don't really follow UFC fighting, more of a boxing fan myself. Yet, I do follow Kimbo. Many people say he is all hype, is this true?

My opinion is not that he is ALL hype, but alot. Seems like he hits hard, and has some basic grappling abilities by now, but he has to face a legitimate opponent before he can be considered anything but mainly hype.

Gina Carano is also on that card...

He is all hype until he fights someone relevant and proves he is more. He certainly is training in a good gym with Bas, but I get the feeling he is just trying to prolong his fame long enough to make some money and then start a gym or something. I have nothing against that, but I am tired of ads trying to say he's some great heavy weight...he's a street brawler. As for fighting Ken, well it's a never-been against a has-been...I'll watch because it's MMA and I'm compelled to but I have pretty low expectations.

Kimbo is nothing but hype, built up from his YouTube.com following. Even his fights on YouTube were never allowed to go to the ground. Kimbo is a slugger, nothing but a swing for the fences guy.

Kimbo has no cardio, and cannot last in long fights. If you take him extra rounds he becomes worthless, even in his fight on CBS with the balloon eared white boy, the guy made it through the barrage of fists and was probably going to win a decision if it went to one. That guy had a losing MMA record and was an exploded califlower-ear away from winning that fight (a terrible call to end that fight BTW).

His ground game is terrible and has yet to even be taken to the ground for an extended period of time in EliteXC. We still don't know what, if any, submission defense he has, my guess is that he couldn't defend or get out of a triangle-choke, guillotine, or even a rear-naked choke.

They still won't schedule him a real fighter, a 44 year-old Tank Abbott, a journey-man with a losing record and a 40+ year old Frank Shamrock are not real fights. They are fights he should win, although, if Shamrock has a game-plan he should pick him apart.

Like I said in the MMA thread, Kimblo is nothing on the ground and I think Shammy should beat him easily even though he hasn't won in a long time.

right. I think KS will prolly submit him pretty quick...but they might tell him to go toe to toe for a bit, to make it more interesting.

I doubt that. EliteEX doesn't have the best rep to begin with and if people knew they were influencing fights, they would have to shut down immediatly.

If that's the case, Shamrock should win pretty quick.

If he can get Kimblo on the ground, I agree. If he tries to stand and punch, he will not have as good a chance.

Shamrock is so washed up - it's sad to watch. Kimbo is mostly hype but he'll knock glass Ken out quick.
