Re: Official MMA thread.

Although these guys aren't seen as the prime fighters of the UFC, the event should be explosive and quite enjoyable.

My Picks:
Fight Card:
Stephan Bonnar Vs. Keith Jardine
Rashad Evans Vs. Sam Hoger
Joe Stevenson Vs. Josh Neer
Chris Leben Vs. Luigi Fioravanti
Luke Cummo Vs. Jason Von Flue
Josh Burkman Vs. Jon Fitch
Josh Koscheck Vs. Ansar Chalangov (I just hope)
Trevor Prangley Vs. Chael Sonnen
Brad Imes Vs. Dan Christison (undercard)

A rather lack-luster event, huh? Ultimate Fighter season 3 looks like they have some good fighters involved. I love the hatred between the over-rated, Tito and Shamrock.

Re: Official MMA thread.

Well, I saw the replay of Ultimate Fight Nite. Does anyone else
think Jardine got screwed? I like Bonner, but I definitely think he lost that fight.

And what about the announcement of a fight between Hughes and Gracie?
I have all the respect in the world for Royce, but I don't think he will beat Matt. I just hope it is a decent fight, for Gracie's sake.

I like the new changes for season 3 - nobody gets a free ride this time.

I'm with you on this. I like Bonner but Jardine really took the fight to him and prevented a number of takedowns. Jardine at 205 looks to be a much improved fighter and should make some waves in that class along side of Bonner and Griffin. The 205lb class is filled with some good fighters which will make it one of the most exciting weight classes. About the same with 185lb.

The Singer brothers are some big names in MMA training so I was a bit surprised to see Rory Singer on there. Interested in how he's going to do.

Re: Official MMA thread.

I guess Shamrocks guys need to a 10 fall match. "9 out of 10 times he would have beat him". Well, you only get one try. Hate that crap.

Re: Official MMA thread.

yea, that jesse guy seemed like an overconfident prick. I thought Tito's guy was gonna get pummeled when he got thrown into side control but after seeing how he got into a guard, I figured he might get a submit which he did. that roll into armbar was very nice.

Yes, it was. Just like Shamrock said, he was so busy beating the guy, he forgot to defend.

Lots of inexperience too. You should never try to pull away from an armbar like that. Pure wrestling instincts can get you in trouble in the MMA world.

Re: Official MMA thread.

Man, this season of TUF is sooooooooooo much better than last season....no more challenges, no more not having to fight until the last episode, we finally get to see more of the training, etc. Plus, we're getting to see a whole new side to Tito. He seems like a great coach and a great guy all around. Especially when he got that interpreter for the deaf guy (Matt?).

Anyone ordering UFC 59? I had convinced myself not to buy it, but again......I'm going to give in and order it (I always do ). Supposedly Rampage is going to make an announcement that he's coming to the UFC. I've also heard that maybe even Frank Shamrock will too. Who knows? It's just a rumor at this point, but I kinda beleive the Rampage one. He's the last guy that Liddell has to avenge his loss to....... alot of marketing potential with Rampage-Liddell 2.

I have never liked Tito...but my opinion has totally changed after this season of TUF. He genuinly seems like a nice guy. Shamrock on the other hand .....
