Olympic Hockey Pool

Any fans of Olympic Hockey??

We should do a cigar pool for Olympic Hockey. I know most of us believe that it will boil down to USA/Canada but there are a lot of other teams competing. Don't forget...the Czechs, Swedes and Russians all have solid teams too so combined with the format of Olympic Hockey that it may very well be that one or both of the favorites gets bumped before the final.

Players could pledge a mix of 5 NC/ISOM top shelf cigars to get in. The winners would be the two teams in the final game. The first place winners would receive 75% of the cigars in the pool and the runners up would receive the other 25%.

Example:

5 members pick Canada
10 members pick the USA
3 pick Russia
4 pick Sweden
2 pick Czech
1 pick Belarus
3 pick Finland

Thats 28 members in the game with 140 total smokes.

If the USA plays Canada in the final and wins then 75% (105) smokes get divided amongst the 10 that picked USA and 25% (35) divided amongst the 5 that picked Canada.

Here is where it could get really good!!

If Czechs play Finland in the final and win then 75% (105) smokes get divided amongst the 2 that picked the Czechs and 25% (35) divided amongst the 3 that picked Finland.

We would have to get at least 10 guys in this to make it interesting. This would be a "pledge" pool. To cut down on handling damage, you wouldn't ship anything until after the final game at which point we would PM the winners addresses and you would have 2 weeks to deliver directly. I know that the numbers don't always divide perfectly but we could get it close.

Please PM me with your name and team choice if you are interested. I'll come up with a list of players. Lets keep the game limited to members with 100 posts/60 day membership/participation in NST or Trade. Let me know if you see any flaws in my concept.

Looks like we got 5 so far. I doubt that everyone will want the same team. XXX you know Tretiaks no playing anymore....right?

I'm probably wrong but I believe that the Czechs broke up into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Slovakia is the SVK.
