Florida and Texas.

Texas beat Oklahoma on a neutral site and Florida beat Alabama. Last I checked athletic contests are settled on the field and both of those were. The computer missed it again.

I also agree: Screw the BCS!!! What a waste.

On that logic I can definitely agree that Texas should be ahead of Ok. (Great game BTW. But I am unsure as to how they should be ahead of the team the #1 team beat...

That being said the BCS sucks! I say go to a league set up like The Europeans use... Top so many teams are in League #1, second so many in League #2, Etc, Etc. than you still have the separate bowls and the top so many teams move up a league and the bottom so many teams move down the ladder. I think this would solve all this BCS BS stuff.

I agree with you. I stopped at the championship game. Peel the onion back an extra layer and you are absolutely right.

Personally I believe Florida and Texas should be a toss-up with Oklahoma and Alabama behind them.

Oklahoma needs to make a strong showing by beating Florida or the SEC will be able to rightfully brag they are the absolute strongest conference in college football.

Re: New BCS rankings tonight

UT Beat both Missouri and the Sooners. So two teams UT beat both played a game to see who would go on to the BCS Championship game.

I don't really understand the BCS anyways.

Now I understand what you are saying.

As for the BCS, cahnge is in the wind, but there is so damn much money involved for the teams controlling it the change won't come easy.

Personally, I think that argument is already made and won. Don't flame me, it is only my opinion and we all know about opinions.

Speaking of opinions, the Florida-Alabama was the National Championship game as far as I am concerned....but I ain't "BCS Approved".

Re: New BCS rankings tonight

Out of Chicago and an obvious SEC fan. Who'd a thunk it...

I agree with you. I called it early in the season. I have friends in Oklahoma though and damn are they hard headed. They won't concede the national title without playing the game. They likely won't concede it even after they lose though..

I got to personally watch Tebow play in high school. He played against my son in the Florida state high school semi-finals game. Even then he was head and shoulders above any other athlete I have ever seen.

I used to hate Florid, but when got rid of Spurrier and brought in Tebow I became a fan.

Crazy, huh? Actually lived in central Florida years ago, and got to catch some games at the Swamp, and have been a fan ever since, despite Spurrier, who I think is an ass as well.

Very cool you got to see Tebow play at the high school level...how to you think he would do in the NFL?

Re: New BCS rankings tonight

A lot of pundits are saying that Tebow will change positions in the pros. Maybe linebacker or tight end.

Re: New BCS rankings tonight

Ice;

I have been involved in sports at one level or another since I was a kid. Tebow stands out far more tha any other as having the "IT", the presence, tha aura whatever you want to call it. I am now following young men I knew that are playing pro baseball and football. None of them were as impressive as Tebow.

When I watched him play in high school I would tell people about it and they would always answer, "he can't play Div. I ball yet, he isn't ready", "the linabackers will eat him up" and I would explain he is ready for Div I and all it could throw at him. After his freshman year of college, these same people were saying "well he will never be a truly great quarterback because he cant throw the ball" and I would explain I watched him warm-up by throwing 40 yard post patterns flat footed. Now they are saying he doesn't have the "tools" necessary to play in the NFL. Wrong again. Physically he is unbelievable. He is extremely smart, and he simply refuses to lose. He will do whatever it takes to win. Real winners want the ball when the chips are down because the believe they will win the game. He has that confidence. During the state champiionship game they put him in at middle linebacker late in the game to prevent a score. The man can play football. I really hate the high school he played for but I became real fan of Tebow's after watching him and now following him through college.

Watching him as an 18 year old I told my son he was just beaten by a future NFL QB. He was that impressive.

Good things to hear, Jonesee....he is an impressive athlete and seems to be an even better human being. I will be watching, and rooting for his success.
