Re: Martial Arts

I was taking Muay Thai last year for a few months, but I rolled my ankle, then life got in the way, so I haven't been back yet. Next summer, when life settles back down again, I plan on rejoining.

MT is quite a cardio workout and the sparring is fun.

Re: Martial Arts

I took Kajukembo waaaaay back in the day. Boxed and wrestled in HS then transitioned to BJJ. I have taken Muay Tai to learn elbow, knee and kick strike better.

Two kids later and one more on the way I mostly watch it on MMA on TV unless we do something at work.

Do you remember what method of Kaju you did? How did you like it?

It was the mid-80s and I was really young, I was 5 and in martial arts- Heck yeah, I liked it. I am not sure what style in it was, it was in Abilene, TX. http://www.kajukembo.com/ is the site but the instructor I had is no longer running it, one of his students is now.

I was able to compete against some of their students in grappling only tournament. Not too bad, all things considered.

Re: Martial Arts

I've trained in Muay Thai for 3 years now.

There are a couple of "grappling guys" on my ship that I train with occasionally. One is a jiu-jitsu practitioner and the other trains in Krav Maga.

Re: Martial Arts

I used to train in martial arts until I knocked myself out with a pair of nun chucks and tore my rotator cuff. You know it's time to quit when you knock your own self out.

Re: Martial Arts

I did Muay Thai for a year or so. Kept me in great shape and it was awesome to work out all the aggression that comes along with life. Would love to get back but the work schedule's kinda rough now.
