College Football Bowl Schedule

I was just checking out the bowl schedule and was wondering, when did they create so many bowl games?

Also, does anyone remember when all the top bowl games were on January 1st? It seems like every year they push the national championship game back a couple of days. This year it is on Jan. 8th!

In five years, it is going to be played in February. Considering the regular season is usually over the 1st week in December, waiting 4-6 weeks to play the next football game just seems a little too long to me.

I saw a show once about college bowls. Do a google search....they had many goofy bowls come and go especially after WW2.

I'm waiting for the Van Camp Pork & Bean bowl myself. It could be the next big thing.

whats sad is the way the bowls are flopping. orange bowl tickets are a dollar. texas cant even sell its allowment for the fiesta bowl. last i heard nevada only had sold 28 tickets their no-name bowl. and did anyone see the st. petersburg bowl? its what? forty minutes with traffic from usf's campus and they didnt even fill up the lower level.
