I'm not going to accuse or excuse, but a lot of what was going on is like hearing my sister every time she see's a woman with bigger boobs, "Those are fake". I will say there are a few legitimate products that can help an athletes preformance and with proper training gains in muscle size with a higher growth % than without.

I will also say f^*K the dirty asshat who after his career was done cut a deal to bust his teammates for the mighty $$$. Nice book Can-suko!
Do you beleive Canseco? I think he is an idiot, but I would believe him. Plus if Mac had nothing to hide, he would have said so in his congressional hearing. He would not say he did not use it because he was afraid of a Federal Perjury Charge if he said he didn't and some evidence came up later that he did.

Re: Barry Bonds

I would say what Canseco wrote is probably the truth. And McGwire did plea the 5th on this issue. So everything points to him doing steroids. While I'm not going to burn him without proof, I can certainly understand why so many people have given him flak for it.

And I truely feel Canseco is a peace of crap for doing what he did. He was done with baseball, needed some money or just wanted to get his name back in the spotlight, and begged for immunity. Were they wrong? Sure. But why did he need to drag everyone thru the dirt. He didn't have a problem with it when he introduced steroids to Mac.

The main idea I was trying for is that it is quite possible for an athlete to put on more than average muscle without steroids.

Conseco is still a proponent for the benefits of Steroids. I have seen him on several interviews saying how well streroids work, and yada yada... He's not saint for sure, just telling how it is. You never hear Arnold Schwarzenagger ever tell people not to take Steroids, he'd be a total hypocrite.

Some say Steroids were the best thing for baseball, the exciting home run battle that developed because of it would never have happened and baseball was just reeling in from the player strikes.

Re: Barry Bonds

I think in order to level the playing field for this season, to help to get fid of all the steroids running through his system, Bonds started to take Estrogen.

My question is for Comic Book Freak. If you were in a bar with with just you Bonds at last call.....

Would You????

Re: Barry Bonds

I was going to stay out of this, but will say this:

McGuire admitted to taking Andro, a prohormone. Basically, it turns into a steroid once inside the body. It was legal at the time, but illegal now due to sales skyrocketing after his admitance and Congress doing our thinking for us.

I'm no expert, but I cannot think of any legal product that can make a man of Bond's age grow like he has and maintain his size. Testosterone is what builds muscle along with hard work and eating properly. It's a fact, that as a man ages, his body produces less testosterone.

Taking steroids alone will not do anything for you, other than mess up your body's system. Hard work, eating properly and weight training is needed to produce the results that will show. The biggest misconception is that anybody can take steroids and be a superstar. That's false. IMO, it will only intensify what's already there. He's talented and these are keeping his skills honed instead of fading.

Is Bonds a talented athlete? Absolutely! Does he have to work and train hard to stay in shape? Yeppers! Do I think he juices? Absolutely! Do I like him? Nope. Just my

Bonds is arguably one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He is, without a doubt, the best player anyone here under the age of 40 or so, has ever seen play. The absolute best of his generation. Has ALL the tools.

I hope he breaks the record this year and retires before he starts breaking down too much.

Hell no!!!! Never had beer goggles that bad! Barry may be the best ever modern day player ,but he sure makes an ugly Paula Abdul!!! Btw press bitches at him for not enteracting, then makes fun of him when he does.

But Bonds will have the last laugh when he passes the Babe and Henry this year. 715 then 757, heck he may just hit 100 HR.

Thing is after Barry retires I will need a new team to pull for. i have been a yankees fan when Reggie, Winfield, Randolph, the Goose, and that Crew was there. Then I was a BoSox Fan when Rocket was there boy were those bad days!!!! Bosox trade the best Damn pitcher they ever had! What??? So I will have to find another team to pull for when "The Baseball God" Bonds retires. Hhmmmmm. Maybe the Devil Rays? Any suggestions?

pnoon you are mean

I would just pull for the Globetrotters if I were you. It is a pretty painless way to be a Sports Fan.

And for the record, the Sox did not trade the Rocket, they let him go for free

How would you rate the Rocket? I think he's best in baseball right now and of his generation.

unfortunetly (sp?) in todays baseball market once a player starts to make a name for themself after their previous contract ends, its hard for a small market team to keep them. Back when the Sox let Clemens go they did not have the payroll that they do now and were unable to pay him what he wanted. I would have loved to see the Rocket play his whole career in Boston but money talks.

Well, I am from the school of thought that Roger tanked it his last couple of years in Boston. He did have that 20 strikeout game that last season with the Sox, but that was about it. He was a better than average pitcher, but not an all-star.

When he went to Totonto, he was 15 pounds lighter and in better shape than he had been in years. Plus they went out an paid Pedro more than what they would have paid Clemons. I would not mind seeing Clemons back at the Trade Deadline to finish out his career here. I doubt it would happen though.

As a non-position player, he is lumped into another category and cannot be inlcuded in a greatest player discussion. He belongs in the best pitcher discussion.
