Being a graduate of the University of Kentucky, March is supposed to be a welcoming month. After this year, I cant wait for the season to be over. How do you spell N-I-T again?

I have seen very little of college basketball this year, but the most exciting player I've seen in a while is Adam Morrison from Gonzaga. Saw them play against St Mary's this season and the guy is a reincarnation of Larry Bird. Amazing player...

Kentucky is a tough call. they always looked shaky, however all of there losses were quality losses(although 2 to vandy). at tennessee then florida at home to finish up plus conference tourney. i think if they win 2 more to finish, they'll make it easily.

adam was my guy last year, didn't know he would be this good this year, so he cant be my stud. i love him though, a lot of NBA promise. better than JJ, imo, but redick deserves player of the year, i think. just because of the harder schedule, faces more from the crowd for no apparent reason, and his ACC scoring record is pretty impressive.

We'll see what he does in "The Tournament". With the likes of Portland St., Washington St., E. Washington, St. Louis, St. Mary's, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, San Diego, and San Francisco on your schedule - if you're an NBA caliber player, you should look good. He did put up 43 on Michigan St. and 43 on Washington, but let him bang the big dogs for a while and see if he can average 29 then. The one thing I'll give J.J. Redick credit for is that he did his scoring in the ACC for four years and Duke typically has an RPI in the top 10 every year. That's why Redick deserves player of the year more in my opinion. The only thing in Morrison's favor for POY is that he made a mediocre team good and without him they wouldn't be in the Top 25. Morrison will probably be drafted first, but J.J.'s quick release beyond the arc has the scouts mouths watering and he's relentless on both ends of the court.

I can't believe it ! I'm a Tar Heel fan and I'm bragging on a Dukie ! Dear God, what have I done ? I'm so ashamed....

as far as draft goes, i'm goin with mr. gay numero uno overall. (he's also going to have the highest selling jersey once he gets to the NBA ) just his flow, the way he carries himself. i think he's got so much more potential than morrison when it comes to the pros. second is a push; morrison and lamarcus aldridge. probably slight edge to morrison, more experience and he led a team whereas aldridge has more guys around him. im a hige fan of aldridge though, so smooth. JJ could then go as early as 4, however i think sheldon williams will be better than redick in the nba. #4 is a huge stretch for him, imho.

JJ still hasn't learned how to drive and slash. he's also slow, gonna have a hard time adjusting to game speeds at the nba level, particularly on the defensive end.

Re: March is only a few days away!

how bout dem orangemen!?! anyone catch G Mac's couple of 3 pointers. first to beat cincinatti yesterday, then the upset over unconn today. ahhh, the best days are just ahead of us. then of course temple and wake forest.

going to be some great tournament games this weekend. i know, i know....some teams take it easy and some try harder. it does kind of scew people's opinions about teams, but nonetheless, its going to be a great weekend.

yes, i'm rambling to myself but whatever

Morrison is awesome, but Gonzaga is overated IMO. I think they will go out in the first or second round...

But next year Mr. Morrison should make a great NBA player...

Re: March is only a few days away!

selection committee royally screwed this bracket up. Air Force? Utah State? cal shouldn't be seeded as high, same with tennessee. also the MVC. some complain too many made it in, some say not enough. whatever you think about it, the seeds were way off. Southern Illinois and Bradley deserve better seeds.

But anywho, what we lookin at?

This is probably going to change many times before thursday morning, but right now i'm looking at:

texas____________ ______________uconn

________________texas uconn______________

memphis _________ _______boston college

then uconn as eventual champs, then possible sleepers may be Pitt, Florida, UNC, or maybe even Iowa.

damn, can't wait til thursday

Re: March is only a few days away!

Took the day off today ... it's the first day of the tourney. Cigars, beer and basketball!!!

I'm a BC fan but Pacific gave them a heck of run. Can't wait to see how this plays out.

Gonna take a long lunch tomorrow to watch Southern Illinois.

The tourney tells me that baseball is just around the corner. GO CARDS!
