Utah deserves a shot at Florida more than USC. Then Texas will want their shot then...

That is the problem with the BCS. There is no traditional play-off/elimination process to declare a national champion. There will always be 3-4 teams with the same or better record that believe they should be the national champs. The system needs to be changed and I believe they are working on it now.

In spite of all that, I think Florida is the legit national champion. They repeated from 2 years ago, something no other team has done and they play in the SEC which has proven itself to be likely the strongest conference in college. Everyone thinks their conference is stronger. All the Ohio State fans did, Ouch!!! Texas and Oklahoma believed it... Yet 2 times in 3 years Florida has come out on top. That isn't a coincidance.

You make a legit case for Utah. It just seems they get over looked because of their conference. It just seems like USC was dominate the whole year other than their one loss. Anyhow hats off to the Gators and I cant wait until the new season begins

True. There was 2 years between LSU's national championship.

I just think it's great that SEC teams have won five BCS Championships - Tennessee, 1998, LSU 2003 & 2007, Florida 2006 & 2008

Everyone keeps talking about the "GREATEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM OF ALL TIME - USC" but for the record, USC only has ONE BCS national championship. The may also have the AP national championship but it's not the official BCS championship.

The game that was played yesterday was the game that was supposed to be played yesterday. That is what was determined by the BCS system which ALL the members schools including Texas, USC, Florida, Oklahoma and even Utah have agreed would be used to determine who plays for the national championship. Texas did not win its conference. Oklahoma did.

USC got their butts kicked by Oregon a non-ranked opponent and because of the strenght of their schedule that loss eliminated them from the BCS championship. I'm tired of USC fans - and Pete Carroll - crying about how USC is this great team and was playing the best football at the end of the year. Hey USC! Your conference was one of the leaders who stopped any talk about a playoff last year so stuff it! You didn't qualify. And if you are so great why don't you have more than one BCS championship?

I say have a playoff system where only the conference champion gets to compete for the national title. You don't win your conference, you don't get to the playoffs. Not enough teams, then split the Big 12 and the SEC into two separate conferences.
