Aside from Michael Jordan, my next two choices are based on their outstanding contributions to the sport but also, I am biased as between my son and I, we got to meet both men and they are just great folks to talk to and very down to earth, in spite of their fame.

Michael Jordan - Has got to be the best ever to play the game and has had the greatest impact on the sport's popularity

Walt "Clyde" Frazier - Awesome in his time - classy, classy human being and player. Great personality. Great person to meet and converse with.

Shaquile O'neal - most dominant modern day "big man" and what a nice person to meet. Kid like quality even at this stage in his life. My son's encounter with him will be one he never forgets.

Jordan is my only favorite basketball player. I used to watch it when I was little and Jordan was in his prime. Todays players drive me crazy and I stopped watching the NBA entirely.

Nobody has a bigger heart than a little man trying to make it in a tall mans game. The obstacles you have to overcome to do that are large. Those guys earned their spots with hard work unlike a lot of the high schoolers and Darko's being drafted on "potential".

I second that thought. Not that they don't have talent and that there aren't exceptions; but if I want to watch gang bangers, rappers, and wiggers, I'll watch COPS!!!

I used to watch when it was a sport. MJ and MJ, Larry Bird, Kareem, Isiah, etc. Things have changed drastically ... and not for the better.
