Hockey in Florida??!! Give me a break! Someone told me that the NHL didn't have a season a year ago. How could you tell?

I hear Canadians always do it doggy style so they can both watch the hockey game.

What?? Me?? Have an opinion about hockey?? Well, maybe...

unfortunately, no one in Florida seemed to care much.

Tampa Bay's attendance is right around league average, which is pretty low considering they were contending for a cup.

Tampa Bay Lightning 2003-04 41 games 730,634 total attendance 17,820 average per game

for a comparison

Philadelphia Flyers 2003-04 41 games 794,388 total attendance 19,375 average per game

keep in mind, the Tampa Bay stadium can hold up to 19,500

I had been reading the attendence was running OVER 20,000 per game, in a 19,500 seat venue? Maybe Philly's attendence is better because.......THERE'S NOTHING TO F-ING DO IN PHILLY?!

I'm going by these numbers

http://www.kenn.com/sports/hockey/nh...ttendance.html

as far as venue info, I found this

Seating in the St. Pete Times Forum ranges from 19,500 for hockey to 21,500 for center-staged events, such as Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, and U2.

here http://www.buyselltix.com/nhl/stadiu...ingStadium.php

from the same site I got the info on the Flyers stadium: The Wachovia Center seats 21,600 for basketball and has a capacity crowd of 19,159 for hockey.

either way, you can't really mess with Philadelphia fans. They are the most notoriously passionate fans in all of sports. Sure, there have had some bad incidents, especially Eagles fans, but no one can touch their devotion.

No question 'bout that! The Lightning have the XO club where everyone doesn't have a "seat", but I'm sure they count as heads.
You don't go into a sports venue in Philly with enemy gear on and expect to leave intact........Ya' gotta love that!
