Funny, I don't see anything about the Lightning. What's going on? I used to watch hockey a great deal until the strike/lockout, and the subsequent TV packages are less than ideal. I don't keep up like I once did.

Add three full-time soccer channels, and I barely even know the NHL is out there.

So how are the Lightning doing?

Soccer? SOCCER!
'Ning are pluckin' along around .500. Barely in the playoffs
at this point. Goaltending has been a problem.
Little Martin St. Louis AND Vincent Lecavier are tied for the league
lead in goals scored, however!

Excellent on Martin and Vinnie. MAN, I just really dig those little players who are successful like Martin St. Louis. It's hard to believe that Vinnie LeCavalier has been in the league almost ten years.

Who's the keeper? Any chance of a trade?
Just before the strike, the Wild were going with a two 'keeper, hot-hand sort of thing with Dwayne Roloson and.......DAMN, forgot. Somebody should be out there, right?

Manny Fernandez. 'Ning traded Fredrik Modin to the Blue Jackets for Mark Denis, but he hasn't stepped up. The backup goalie, Johan Holmqvist, has been better, but both their save %'s in under .900.

Manny? He's had a decent career, at least as a backup.

"They" really thought Denis was ready to become elite. He had decent numbers with CBus, but blamed not better numbers on a lousy team/lousy defense. The 'Ning have allowed the 3rd lowest amount of shots in the league, which is good. Now there is an article in the paper saying fewer shots allowed is BAD, as the goalie needs 30+ to get in the "groove"!

Zackly. They had both 'tenders stats when facing more then 30 shots and when facing less. Their goals against and save percentage were both BETTER when facing over 30 shots!
