OSU vs USC

This is the national title game of the regular season... I expect it to be a very good battle. Id say OSU would be an easy pick if playing at home but I still say OSU edges USC 24-17 due to the return of Beanie Wells and Donald Washington. OSU's defense is superior

USC is getting 10-1/2. That tells me something right there. As a betting man, I locked OSU @ +11 to cover, but not win (pays better money).

After watching OSU struggle to beat a HS team, I just don't see OSU topping USC. OSU has not shown me in their 1st two games that they are a better team than USC.

Close game, but I give it to USC.... 27-17. OSU barely covers.

You must have missed the Youngstown State game.
What I have to say about their game last week is their offense looked out of sync. Their D looked prety good despite 1 or 2 runs that QB that they had no film on had. Also OSU didnt play their D as they normally do to hide their style from USC so they have less film to work from in prep.

Also remember

A. Beanie Wells is back
B. Donald Washington is back.

Its going to be close, probably within 7 points each way.

Here are other reasons why I like USC over OSU...

1) Just because OSU is getting some studs back doesn't mean they are going to be all sync'd up. Just like last week. EXCEPT, they aren't playing some shitty team.

2) USC did not play last week. All they have done since the 1st game of the season is plan for OSU.

3) Home field advantage.

OSU can win. No question about that. But USC is the odds on favorite.

The boys in Vegas WANT you to take OSU. If they didn't, the line would be sub 6. The middle is the play here.

The sync problem was due to the lack of the running game due to the absence of Beanie. He is back and they will run their regular offense.. Sync problem solved.

The vegas ppl go by numbers. They judge games by how opponents look past another bc of the big game the week after.. so on and so on. I think you get my point so yeah I think a bet on OSU this week at least covering the spread would be a good bet.

Well, I am sure they will be much improved over last week.

Yes, the Vegas people go over the numbers. But on huge games like this, where there's TONS of action going on, they WANT you to bet a certain way.

If you just had to pick a winner, no bias, 75%+ betters would take USC.

If you had to play the line, no bias, 50%+ betters would take OSU.

I really wanted this line tighter so I could take USC. But this is WAY too many points.

newsflash, Vegas doesn't go with numbers. While it gives a good starting point, it is generally the public opinion and placement of bets that moves the spread. In the end, Vegas would like every game to be 50% on one team and 50% on the other, that way they can't lose big and still collect the juice from the winnings.

As an OSU fan I'm glad we are considered the underdogs. It makes the players feel the need to really play hard unlike last weeks game where the could (and did) win with their eyes closed. Just my opinion.

yup, plus they didnt open the playbook on offense and defense... hence this performance.. if you watched the game and actually KNOW football you would have seen this.. i dont recall OSU blitzing the entire game.

I'm a huge Buckeye fan, but I'm nervous about this one. I saw our experienced o-line getting hammered by a weak defense and our receivers, regardless of a limited playbook, refused to get open. The D was great but the ends and backers were constantly over-pursuing and missing tackles which ruined any pressure on the QB. And, wtf was up with the kicking game? I hope like hell it was a matter of everyone sleeping through the game and Tressell refusing to deviate from his gameplan but I'm still nervous

OSU can win, should win, but I'm not betting shit on it. Just to throw it out there I'll say OSU 27 - SC 20.

O/U came out today... 45pts.

I'm taking OSU to cover, NOT WIN, and the over. $400 money line

I hear you on the "can win." But not with you on the "should win." I just don't see it. I can't see them playing at 100% of their potential, and that's what it will take to win this game. The experts and Yahoo! users have weighed in as well....

Ohhhhh..... that USC. Thought I'd stumbled into an alternate universe where the GameHens were playing OSU and UGA. Wanna see the Wells film at 11.
