I'd say it's a slam dunk. I can't imagine Colorado beating the Sox.

A SLAM DUNK????? This is what I hate about the Red Sox and the Yanks..........a team can make some serious history (no team has won as many games in a row since the 1935 Cubs and that was not in September and October!!!) and then come up against one of them and then all of the sudden they have no chance. Granted I am biased. I can't stand Manny, Ortiz, and company as a whole. They have no passion.........citing Manny's "It's not the end of the world if we lose"...........they play for money. I have no respect for their skills. Pardon my rant please.

My personal opinion is that you could not be more wrong. Not saying it's a slam dunk, but they have PLENTY of passion to win - certainly more than anyone else in the American League this year! That's just me however. JMHO.

GO SOX!

I agree Ceedee. If you don't believe they have passion...replay last night's game and watch Ortiz hugging Pedroia after he hit his home run. And as far as Manny goes...I seriously doubt he even remembers where he put half his money (in his mattress?, his glove compartment?) so I doubt that is his main motivation

Lastly, there are NO slam dunks in sports. If there were I would be retired on an island summer smoking forbidden fruit all day

Most certainly I am biased.........I am a die hard cards fan and a rockies fan.............I may just hate them overall since 2004. This is a typical respone from someone whose team was embarrased as bad as the birdnals in 04.

Go Rockies!

In speaking particularly about Passion, all you have to do is look at two EX Red Sox players that were in the Red Sox v Cleveland series in one way or the other. The respect that Trot Nixon received from his former teammates and from the fans was at the least, fervent. And how about Kevin Millar? I mean, that guy is playing for the Orioles, just got a new contract and did all that he could to be involved in any way to help his buds with the Sox! He is still part of the Red Sox Nation. The whole idea of the concept of Red Sox nation is one that perhaps many people outside of New England would not understand (nor care to), but unless you have lived the life of a DIE HARD Red Sox fan, for the years previous to 2004, it is really hard to comprehend the amount of passion for the Red Sox the fans have. This predisposes that the players have that passion too. Let's face it, if you play in cities like Boston or NY, if you don't have passion and if you don't produce, you will be rode out of town on a rail. Perhaps the only guy you could possibly have an issue with is Manny. Manny is for lack of a better term, a doof. Sure, he gets payed more than any human should for what he does. That being said, all his teammates say he is the hardest working person on the team when it comes to practice and preparation. So, if he's good enough for them, he is definitely good enough for me. Forget Manny though. Youkilis - Pedroia, Drew, Beckett, Shilling, Papelbon, Varitek, Ellsbury, Crisp, Lowell, Hinske... tell me which one of those guys does not have passion? I mean, there is not a one of them that would not give a left "dangling appendage" to win. Look at last night's standouts... Well, that's all I got to say about that.

I have to admit... Although Im not a baseball fan, I have the utmost respect for Sox and Cubs fans. They are there, good or bad, ups and downs, wins and losses. They are the tride and true with the history and heritage that comes with deeply rooted programs. Passion isnt a question there its a way of life. I know quite a few sox and cubs fans along with others. And the bottom line is I respect them and I cannot or will not question loyalty and passion. its a way of life.
