Any NASCAR fans here? 16 days left before the Daytona 500!!! Anyone going to the race?

If you plan on attending the next Texas Motor Speedway race give me a shout and we can meet at the track and have a stogie. This would be a great time for a HERF.

I am a Denny Hamlin fan #11

:spiderman: Cant wait!!! Dual races on 14th, Nationwide series on 16th and the cup race on the 17th. Since there is nothing else to do in the snowy winter up here, cigars and tall frosty cold ones are in order for the races. Side note, I heard a rumor the the Nationwide series is switching over to the 'new' bodies next year...Camaro, Mustang and the new Challenger. That will be cool.

Talking

NASCAR is great, and I'd love to go to a race sometime for the spectacle and atmosphere of it all - but to me, doing (even as badly as me) beats watching. :-)

Yes I heard the same thing...but i obly heard about the Mustang. I think it is a great idea and I think the cup will follow. Unlike the Sprint Cup car, the Nationwide car won't use the big, separate rear spoiler, nor will it use the same kind of front air splitter. And while the basic suspension will be the same, the Nationwide car is likely to have more suspension travel.

Are you in a NASCAR fantasy league? If not i will send you an invite for my league. (That goes for anyone else here on CI as well!)

No. It's a Yahoo league. I am in a weekly pool at work though..."1.50" on pool tracker. Pretty fun and it will buy you a good cigar if you win.

Long time fan here! Going through withdrawal waiting for the season to start again.
I'm in a couple of pools already and follow all three of the major series. Used to attend the Busch and truck races at Flemington, NJ & Nazareth, PA - up until they shut them down. Planning on trips to Loudon, NH & Watkins Glen this year.

Dale Jr. Wins the Bud Shootout! This was a great race. I was really excited to see the new cars run so well and create such an action packed event.

What did you think about the Tony and Kurt show during practice last week? Personally, I can't stand Kurt Bush!

FOUR days until the 500!

How did you like the 500?

Tony Stewart was just so close to capturing his first 500 win.

The first 150 laps boooooring...The last fifty was the race!!! Not a fan of Newman but, nice to see him win one. Maybe it will give his team that little extra they've been missing.
