Mike Piazza hangs it up
Announced today, ol Mike is done. In his speech, it seemed to me he was securing a NY METS cap on his bust if/when he enters the HOF. Great ball player and a class act.

He didnt sign this year as a Free Agent..played for the "A's" last year. He's being compared to Yogi, FISK and BENCH in the same breath...yup, he was good for the game!

Best hitting catcher ever, bar none. Called a great game also. Weak throws hurt his reputation and his usefulness behind the plate towards the end.

One of the best catchers to ever play the game. Good bat, good knowledge of the strike zone and calling pitches and just a good guy. He should make it to the Hall of Fame based upon these qualities. Will miss him!
