NWA Empire Buffalo Beatdown II Results:

Over 350 fans were in attendance at St. Johnsburg last Saturday night for a great night of NWA Empire wrestling action. Here are the results from NWA Empire’s Buffalo Beatdown II.

- Ron Falco opened the show by calling out “Big Rig” Brodie Lee to face him one-on-one. When Brodie’s music started, Falco went to the aisle to await apperance of Lee. However the crafty Brodie ran into the ring from a back entrance and hit Falco’s manager Mandi Stroyer with a package piledriver. Falco, and several referees and officials helped Mandi, who was thankfully not injured by Brodie Lee’s disgusting actions, to the back. Falco was about to go through the curtain to check on his manager, but at the last second rushed the ring and began battering Lee. The match was more of slug fest than a wrestling match, with much of the action taking part outside of the ring. Falco was able to avenge the attack on hisa manager by pinning Brodie Lee, but the much larger Big Rig had the last laugh, attacking Falco after the match and hitting a package piledriver on a steel chair.

- “Colonel” Dewey Kayfabe (Dewey in a hysterical parody of Rhythm & Booze’s manager “Colonel Johnny Kayfabe) pulled an upset, defeating Rhythm & Booze’s Frank the Tank. Dewey’s victory, and his parody, totally infuriated Frank the Tank’s manager, the real Johnny Kayfabe, who was beside himself for much of the match. After the match there seemed to be small amount of friction between Kayfabe (Johnny, not Dewey) and Frank.

“Amazing” Kevin Grace defeated “The Bull of Black Mountain" Gabe Saint in a fast paced match that included a bit of a dance off between the two competitors in mid-match. The end came when Gabe went to the top rope but missed with a his signatue frog splash. Kevin then capitalized on the mistake by Gabe and got pin. After the match, Gabe and Kevin shook hands in a true show of sportsmanship.

- The Super Assassin came out with a birthday cake for one of the NWA Empire referees and called him out to sing happy birthday. As the song finished, Assassin suddenly shoved the referee’s face into the cake

- Eric Everlast defeated the Super Assassin. After the match E-Z-E and the referee who had been manhandled by Super Assassin earlier shoved Super Assassin’s face into the cake, with Eric doing it one more time solo for good measure.

- “The Mastiff” Will Christianson teamed up with the 300+ pound Big Cat Lemmer to defeat former NWA Empire Heavyweight Chamion Pepper Parks and "Jammin'" Jimmy Olson. Big Cat was legitimately injured during the match. Lemmer was holding Jimmy Olsen in the aisle way and Mastiff went for a somersault over the top rope onto Olsen. However Jimmy broke free and Mastiff landed on Cig Cat, who went down and was in obvious pain from some sort of leg injury and crawled back to the dressing room. He was later taken to a local medical facility for treatment, where it was diagnosed that he had suffered a broken bone in his foot. The end of the match came when Jimmy, back in the ring, picked up a plastic bag that Mastiff had dropped and prepared to use it on him, just as he had done to him and Pepper Parks a few shows earlier. However the crafty Mastiff had a second plastic bag and placed it over Jimmy’s head before hitting a fireman buster suplex for the pin.

- The Ring Crew Express ("I Can't Drive 55 Sammy (Kevin) Dunn & "Diamond" Dave Marcos) defeated the NWA Empire Tag Team Champions Evan & Kyle McCloud and Dos Blanco Chicos (Stargazer and the debuting La Vida Loca) to the capture the title. Dunn pinned Kyle McCloud to win the match for the Ring Crew Express after a double team move by he and Marcos on Kyle McCloud. With this victory, Dunn & Marcos become just the second team to have held the tag team titles of both NWA Empire and the NWA Upstate (NWA Empire's sister fed).

- Former OSPW Hardcore Champion ”Glamorous” Glenn Dillon beat another fromer OSPW Hardcore champ in Mike Magee. The match was a Hardcore Brawl and was a bloody battle that saw a table, a ladder, a chair, a no-parking sign, a pizza pan, a cookie sheet, a fork, and a long length of steel chain used as weapons. Glenn Dillon came out of the encounter relatively unscathed, but Mike McGee was a blood soaked mess and was seen sporting a large path and bandage on his head after the show.

- Violence & Volume (Ice & "Wrestling Personified" Chris Cooper) teamed up with Troy “The Boy” Buchannan to defeat “Inferno” Johnny Adams, “Wonderboy” Zac Atticus & Tommy Mandrake, with Ice pinning Mandrake with a Frostbite (sit-out powerbomb) to win the match for his team.

- What was supposed to be just an NWA Empire Heavyweight Title match ended up costing challenger Blackjack Phoenix his career. Earlier in the evening NWA Empire Heavyweight Jonny Puma was in the ring addressing the fans and dissing Blackjack Phoenix when Phoenix came out and the two began arguing. Phoenix, who trained Puma for the ring, was in the process of telling the arogant Puma that he may have taught Puma all that Puma knows, but that he hadn't taught Puma all that he (Phoenix) knows when Puma’s Club Elite running buddies Ice and Chris Cooper ran in and attacked Phoenix. Puma then said that since he was putting his title on the line against the man who trained him, he wanted something in return, demanding that Phoenix put his career on the line, to which Blackjack agreed.

Phoenix dominated most of the match between the two former friends and had things in his control, despite almost constant interference from both Ice & Cooper. Phoenix had Puma pinned and beaten when he hit a massive lariat forearm, but Ice pulled referee Andrew Mollon out of the ring at the two count. As referee Mollon argued with Ice, ordering him away from ringside, Cooper took advantage of the situatuion and ran into the ring hitting Phoenix with a cowbell. he then placed an almost unconscious Puma on top of Phoenix. Referee Mollon turned around to see Puma on top of Phoenix and slid back into the ring and made the three-count, giving Puma the victory. Do to the earlier deal made between Puma and Phoenix, Blackjack’s career is now officially over. The big cowboy’s music played and he came back out after the match to an ovation from his fans, all of whom will sorely miss Blackjack as has fades into retirement.

- At the conclusion of the show, it was announced that the next NWA Empire show will be Juiced II, and will be held at St. Johnsburg Firehall on Saturday August 23rd. In a move to finally end the ever-escalating feud between "The Mastiff" Will Christianson and Jimmy Olsen, the main event of the August 23rd show has been announced as a Last Man Standing match between the two bitter enemies. Make plans now to not miss NWA Empire’s Juiced II on August 23.

I mentioned in the write-up of the results that the match between Glenn Dillon and Mike McGee was a bloody hardcore brawl. Chekout these pics of Mike McGee taken during the match
