Indy Pro Wrestling - NWA Empire's Juiced II (Aug 23)

For any CL users who are in the Buffalo area and are pro wrestling fans, Buffalo's best independent pro wrestling company, NWA Empire, is holding a show this coming Saturday (Aug 23) at the fed's "home arena", St. Johnsburg Firehall in North Tonawanda.

The big news for this show is the return to the fed of Colin (Olsen) Delaney, the former WWE wrestler who was released by the WWE last week. Colin wrestled extensively for NWA Empire and its' sister fed, Rochester, NY's NWA Upstate, for several years before joining the WWE late last year. He had been wrestling on the WWE's ECW brand, appearing weekly on ECW's TV show on the Sci-Fi network, where he had a high-profile feud with ECW original Tommy Dreamer.

If you can make it, come out to NWA Empire's Juiced II and help welcome Colin back to NWA Empire.

Here is the final card and info for NWA Empire's Juiced II:

Results from NWA Empire’s Juiced II:

A near capacity crowd of between 275 and 300 fans crammed into St. Johnsburg Firehall last Saturday evening, drawn by the lure of a Last Man Standing Match between bitter enemies Jimmy “Jam” Olsen and the psychotic “Mastiff” Will Christianson. They did not go home disappointed, as that match will be a definite Match of the Year candidate in NWA Empire’s year end awards. The rest of the card was just a well received by the enthusiastic and very vocal crowd. Here are the results:

- Dos Blancos Chicos (El Hijo Del Stargazer and Stargazer Jr.) defeated Mean Marcos of the Ring Crew Express and returning former WWE superstar Colin Delaney (who subbed for an injured Kevin Dunn) to win the NWA Empire Tag Team Championship. The Ring Crew Express of Marcos and Dunn had held the title, but when Dunn was injured NWA Empire management allowed Marcos to choose a substitute partner to defend the title with. Marcos chose Colin Delaney, who wrestled previously in the fed before leaving late last year for WWE, where he starred in the fed’s ECW brand.

- In a triple threat match popular PWA Niagara Heavyweight Champion Ron Falco defeated Frank “The Tank” Zimmerman and the Super Assassin, pinning Super Assassin. After the match, as Falco was exiting the ring, Frank Zimmerman’s buddy “Big Rig” Brodie Lee ran down to ringside and knocked Falco senseless with a big boot to the face. Its’ very obvious that Falco’s victory over Brodie Lee at NWA Empire’s Buffalo Beatdown II back in June did little to end their current feud. In fact it seems to have had just the opposite effect, as the Big Rig seems even more intent on making Ron Falco’s life miserable. I’m sure we’ll see this feud heating up even further in the months to come.

- Canada’s Primo Scardino, best known as one-half of the tag team The Italianos, made his NWA Empire debut a successful one as he defeated popular young Tommy Mandrake. The fans at ringside were brutal to the newcomer with a number of chants ringing out during the match such as “Where’s My Pizza” and “Where’s Beth Phoenix,” the later chant in reference to the WWE’s Santino Marella, whom Scardino bears a slight resemblance to.

- Dewdust (Dewey dressed as Goldust) won a 12-man over-the-top-rope battle royal, last eliminating WNY wrestling legend Mike McGee. Other participants in the battle royal included “Glamorous” Glenn Dillon, "Too Sweet" Pistol Pete, women’s wrestler Ashley Vayda, “Superbad” Richard Venice, “Slyk” Nick Ando, the masked Midnight Rider, making his NWA Empire debut, Maximo Suave, JP Hawke, and the NWA Empire debut of The Dustytaker.

- Former NWA Empire Heavyweight Champion Pepper Parks proved once and for all that his impromptu title match victory at NWA Empire’s First Anniversary show in May 2007 was no fluke. Saturday night he decisively defeated “Big Rig” Brodie Lee, pinning Lee after hitting his signature Pepper Shaker Neckbreaker. Brodie Lee has been complaining that Pepper won that 2007 title match on a fluke. Well Saturday night Pepper got a clean pin on the Big Rig after hitting the Pepper Shaker. No excuses this time for Brodie Lee. Plain and simple, he was beaten by a better man!

- Kevin Grace won the vacant NWA Lord of the Dance (3-Way) Championship to claim his first title in NWA Empire. Grace defeated “The Bull of Black Mountain” Gabe Saint and “Wonderboy” Zak Atticus to capture the vacant title, pinning Atticus. The title was recently vacated by El Hijo Del Stargazer, who gave up the title to concentrate on his tag team with Stargazer, Jr.

- Violence & Volume (Club Elite members Ice and “Wrestling Personified” Chris Cooper) defeated NWA Upstate Tag Team Champions Evan & Kyle McCloud in a non-title match when Ice pinned Kyle McCloud.

- NWA Empire Heavyweight Champion Jonny Puma successfully retained the NWA Empire Heavyweight Title in a match with “Inferno” Johnny Adams.

- In a match designed to once and for all end the hostile feud between Jimmy “Jam” Olsen and the psychotic “Mastiff” Will Christianson, Jimmy emerged victorious in a vicious and brutal Last Man Standing match. The rules for the match were simple. When a man was taken down by a move or hold, he had the count of ten to make it to his feet. When someone could not answer a ten count, his opponent was declared the last man standing, and the winner of the match. The match was a brutal affair, which saw a number of weapons used including a garbage can and a plastic bag. Mastiff had tried to smother Jimmy Olsen at past shows with a plastic bag and he tried it again last Saturday. However this time around Jimmy was able to turn the tables and use the bag on Mastiff instead to nearly choke Mastiff out. Jimmy then followed up by powerslaming Mastiff through a ringside table from the ring apron. With both men down and the table in a number of pieces, referee Mo Mantha began the ten count. Olsen made it to his feet at the count of nine, but Mastiff was out cold and not able to make the ten count, thus Jimmy Olsen was declared the winner. Jimmy celebrated his victory over Mastiff with the ringside fans as the show ended.
