Charlie Casserly, Bob McNair and Gary Kubiak!!!
Look at it like this LSU: The texans sunk a sh*tload of money in Davis at RB. Now I don't think he is James/alexander/tomlinson status, but he ain't Moe Williams either. If they sign Bush what are they gonig to do with Davis? Colts couldn't get anyone to trade for James, think anyone would trade for Davis?

As far as Bush is concerned, yes everyone says he is the next "great thing". That's what everyone said about Blair Thomas....Ricky Williams......Ron Dayne.....Lawrence....etc. RB's are a crap shoot. I would take a chance with a high pick on a DE long before I would waste one on a RB. You may find yourself praising God they didn't take Bush.

Sick Re: 2006 NFL Draft

I read the same article on ESPN that justinphilly quoted above. That made me even more upset. Drafting this guy is taking a huge chance, everyone talks about his 'potential' . I have read so many negative things about the guy, it makes me sick. People over here are realy !@#$ PO'd. I took the Texans sticker off my truck today, them, they won't be getting any of my money this year. Why didn't they trade down?

I understand what you are saying......just keep in mind that these are the same "geniuses" including Mel Kiper, who mocked the Colts for taking Manning over Ryan Leaf and mocked them for taking James over Ricky Williams. The risk of making a mistake at DE is far less than making a mistake at RB. There are 3 or 4 DL on the field at any one time, only one RB. Making a poor RB choice, poor QB is far more disasterous than making a poor DL choice. Plus, if a DL ends up being a bust, he usually is at least able to make some kind of contribution and stay on the roster. A bust at RB leads to him being cut a lot of the time and a complete waste of time and money.

It was a big shock to me too but like ResIpsa said it was the smart choice. Two things to remember: they gotta make choices based on the good of the team for long-term potential (not by appeasing the fans). Second, they couldn't trade down, they looked at it and no one would touch it. That came from the mouth of Casserly himself.

Now, look at the bright side: it doesn't look like Casserly will be around to make poor decisions in the future. I think you oughta put a new Texans sticker on the truck and support the team even if you don't support the management.

Come on man! We've gotta a chance to be a good team this year with Kubiak coaching Carr, a WR to line up opposite Andre Johnson, and DD should be back to full health. Don't quit even though you're a little frustrated. Hell, we could still have Capers!

They made a great decision today taking Mario Williams. Stats show that they had the lead in 8 games last year in the second half. 4 of the 8 they had the lead in the 4th quarter. They lost all of those games. Defense will prevail, and I will be watching more of them this year now that they have the right mentality to be successful.

As a Jet fan I cannot believe the Jets:

1. Passed on Leinart w/ the 4th pick
2. Passed on L. White IN THE 2ND ROUND!

I know they needed O line help, but COME ON, what team doesn't for pete's sake!! For the love of god i wish they would just draft a PLAYMAKER on offense FOR ONCE!!! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah i thought the same thing. but i figured they'd be stubborn and stick with pennington. it is risky, just a QB that high in general, plus Leinart's stock was dropping the last week for some reason, but c'mon--------chad is not the answer and they need to realize that. and they're obviously going to need someone once martin is gone. i don't care about lendale's supposed problems. he's done enough on the football field. not running the 40 or doing well in the 225 bench doesn't mean you can't be a good RB.

However, i was hearing good things about their draft. i can't recall who it was, but they said rebuilding from the inside out was the way to go. a QB might not be ready, but with d'brickashaw and mangold playing, then i'm guessing it's going to have to be Clemons by 2007 if not this year, they could be alright down the road. at least that would solve one of their problems.

Texans better hope they got the second coming of Lawrence Taylor. Bush thinks he'll go to SoCal in a year after the league okays the Saints move out of the ghost town. This was orchestrated by Bush but it didn't take much at all to "push" McNair to tell him to go to hell. Bush and his agent knew what (late night talk show comments) buttons to push. McNair is pretty thin skinned and big on character above all else. It was a combination of housegate and Reggie hogging the spotlight.

Either way, it showed Houston to be a bush pardon the reverse pun organization. I got punked on 3 season tickets last week figuring we'd be watching Barry Sanders in the open field.
