Indy Pro Wrestling - NWA Upstate's IndyTational is tomorrow

And I have to miss it! Damn! First NWA Upstate show I'll be missing in over a year! I'll be in NYC!

Anyway, if any of you guys are in or around the Rochester, NY area, NWA Upstate is holding their annual Upstate-8 IndyTational Tournament tomorrow night at Minett Hall in Henrietta, NY. Should be a cool night of action, especially with the feud between NWA Upstate and Syracuse's 2CW in full gear.

The main draw of the show of course will be the 2008 Upstate-8 IndyTational Tournament. This year’s competitors are:

- Colin Delaney (Former WWE (ECW) superstar)

- "Havana Pitbull" Ricky Reyes (representing International Wrestling Cartel)
- "The Amazing Canadian" Lionel Knight (representing UWA Hardcore)
- "Slyk" Wagner Brown (representing Syracuse’s Squared Circle Wrestling)
- "Freshly Squeezed" Orange Cassidy (International wrestling star)

The tournament format calls for four first round matches, followed by a four-way match with the first round winners to determine the 2008 IndyTational Champion. First round tournament matches are as follows:

1. Wagner Brown vs Orange Cassidy
2. Lionel Knight vs Ricky Reyes
3. John McChesney vs Sonjay Dutt
4. Jimmy Olsen vs Colin Delaney

In addition to the IndyTational tournament, the show will feature several other matches as well as the popular Rochester Rumble, a Royal Rumble style battle royal, with the winner being awarded a title shot at any NWA Upstate championship at any time.

JIMMY OLSEN TO HAVE 2CW CHAMPIONSHIP BELT AT INDYTATIONAL
Last Saturday evening Jimmy Olsen gained a measure of revenge against Syracuse’s Squared Circle Wrestling (2CW) for the injury he suffered at the hands of Hellcat in a WarGames cage match between the two feds this past June. Jimmy faced 2CW Heavyweight Champion “Slyk” Wagner Brown for the title at a 2CW show in Watertown last Saturday. Although Jimmy lost the match, he had the last laugh when, with the help of the reunited Up-in-Smoke (Cheech & Cloudy), Jimmy took possession of Brown’s precious championship belt, and told Brown that if he wants the belt back, he can try to take it from Jimmy at NWA Upstate’s IndyTational Tournament this Saturday, which both Jimmy and Wagner are competing in. Kudos go out to Jimmy Olsen for taking the fight to 2CW on their own home turf!

Here are the results for NWA Upstate's Upstate-8 IndyTational Tournament show, held last Saturday (Sep 27) in Henrietta, NY in front of 600-650 fans:

First Round Tournament Matches:

- Former WWE/ECW star Colin Delaney (making his NWA Upstate return) defeated "The Amazing Canadian" Lionel Knight

- Jimmy "Jam" Olsen defeated international indy "Freshly Squeezed" Orange Cassidy

- 2CW Heavyweight Champion "The Underground King" Slyck Wagner Brown (accompanied by former NWA Upstate owner turned 2CW sympathizer Hellcat) defeated TNA Wrestling "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt (accompanied by NWA Upstate manager Star Rider)

- "Fabulous" John McChesney vs. "The Havana Pitbull" Ricky Reyes (Part III) was ruled a no-contest after both wrestlers shoved referee Ron Falco. NWA Upstate owner Chip Stetson came out to the ring and ruled that due to the count-ot, both men were eliminated from the tournament, giving Slyck Wagner Brown a bye into the finals.

Semi-Final Tournament Match:

- Jimmy "Jam" Olsen defeated Colin Delaney, his former "Olsen Twins" tag team partner to advance to the finals

Finals:

Jimmy "Jam" Olsen defeated Slyck Wagner Brown to become the 2008 Upstate-8 IndyTational Champion

"The Montgomery Madman" Sweet Lou, Triple X, & Super Assassin defeated NWA Upstate No-Limits Champion "The Bull of Black Mountain" Gabe Saint, on-half of the NWA Upstate Tag Team Champions Kyle McCloud, & "The White Willie Beamon" Dicky Harter (formerly known as D-to-the-Icky)

- 2CW's Hellcat won the fourth annual Rochester Rumble, a Royal Rumble style battle royal. With his win, Hellcat earned the right to challenge for any NWA Upstate title of his choice at anytime. Hellcat grabbed the mic and announced that he announced challenging NWA Upstate Heavyweight Champion "Dastardly" Danny Doring for the title right then and there, and said that after he beat Doring for the title, he was going to take the title to 2CW, where it belonged. Doring came out and cut a scathing promo putting down both Hellcat and 2CW.
