Same concerns here for the Cowboys. That Skylar Green is a freak on special teams..great pickup for them. Now maybe he can better his wr skills.

They did get a safety with Watkins..don't know how that will shake out tho.

amen to the Pack! 12 picks in the draft, gatta be close to the most this year. We got a few good o-linemen and hopefully the WR they picked up turns out to contribute some. Definately happy about Hawk and Hodge as well. Will work well w/ barnett and should give us one hell of a linebacking core

we got a no namer from abiline christian? and a WR/CB/return man from miami. we've had some return problems so hopefully one of these two guys can fix that.

plus i still wanted them to take a WR, sanorice(?) moss or chad jackson since holmes was gone.

one of the worst offenses in the league and they pick their first offensive players in the 6th round. (not counting devin hester, although listed as a WR in the draft, he was not good enough for that spot at the U and had to play CB.)

very disappointed here. but hopefully things turn out and the right picks were made, that's why the people in the offices get paid the big bucks and i don't.
I agree, the Bears pretty much F'd this draft up. You also forgot to mention they took Dvoracek (DT) from Oklahoma in the 3rd round. He only got kicked off the team two years ago for being a drunk.

Re: How did your team do in the NFL draft?

Jets fan here, ok who's laughing you better stop right now, I think they did alright. Drafted for need only we need alot more but filled some big holes so I am mildly pleased. Not the terrible drafts of yesteryear, God I used to hate draft day. There I was sitting in front of the television just wondering how the Jets would blow it only to be steamrolled when they did in the most ingenious of fashion. Maybe those days are over, maybe the sun will shine on Jets football yet again, maybe we will once again reach the pinnacle of football, yea and maybe I'll be their starting QB next year, at least they didn't draft me to fill the position.

Now wait a minute. You have a very good back in Dominick Davis and Williams will probably be a Pro Bowl defensive end. Some say he's the next Jason Taylor. It's almost scary how similar they are, but I think Williams has the potential to be a little better than Taylor (and I say that being a Dolphin fan). Give the guy a chance and have more faith in Davis. I give the Texans a good amount of credit in trying to build their team around "Defense" like you should instead of taking a guy that you don't really need in order to follow the masses and for marketing (selling jerseys). Selling jerseys won't get you into the Super Bowl, a great defense does. Remember the Ravens a few years ago?

The Texan's problem is they can score but they can't shut down anybody consistently. I think they made a good decision. I think they could have traded down and bolsted their defense even more and still got Williams say around 4 or 5 (maybe). I would have scoffed at the pick if you didn't already have a decent tailback. Give Davis his props and be thankful Bush is in New Orleans where he can't hurt anybody. Keep the faith.

Oh, Miami took Jason Allen - db (Tennessee) - who knows how that is going to turn out. I think he is a tremendous athlete (4.38 40 yd) that has potential to be a real playmaker, but he has some injury issues.

Could the Steelers be going away from the power running game?
Nope! They have confidence in Parker and they've also have shown interests in trading for TJ Duckett.

Not that it was a bad pick, it is more that it was a stupid decision. Williams was going to go at the top, but not #1. So Houston could have traded down to the #2 or #3, drafted Williams and got something out of the deal.

I pretty happy with the Packers draft. I just wish they would have picked up a good RB. I do like the LB's they drafted and hopefully these OL guys turn into some pass blocking fools.

Re: How did your team do in the NFL draft?

Well it's hard to do anything too exciting when your picking #20. My Chiefs drafted guys that fit the personality of our new coach. Herm Edwards is a blue collar guy, he was an undrafted free agent I believe. He picked a bunch of guys that have played a lot and produced when they played but none of em are going to wow anyone. I will say that they did seem to pick for need starting with DE going to DB, QB, OL, and finally WR. Brodie Croyle seems like he might have everything you would want in a development QB but he has a list of injuries a mile long.

Re: How did your team do in the NFL draft?

The Broncos got an A in my opinion. Cutler was a very good pick and then trading a #2 for Javon Walker was a steal.

Getting a TE, some WRs, D-lineman and O-lineman that appear to all be quality makes the Broncos look pretty good.

One of the best drafts they have had in years!

I know squat about football, but I thought this was funny.

Given the option of picking Reggie Bush or Vince Young, Houston Texans general manager Charley Casserly chose Mario Williams. This is like having the choice of spending the night with one of the stars of Charlie's Angles: Full Throttle and picking Bernie Mac.

From this week's Houston Press.
