For the love of Pete can we talk some college football?!?

I'm itching for the season to start...I really am. As most of you know, I am a die-hard Ohio State fan, but moreover a die-hard college football fan as well. I'm not only looking forward to OSU's season, but the entire college football season too.

I have a lot to be excited about. One helluva recruiting class (hello Mr. Chris Wells ) and one scary-good offense (Troy Smith + Tony Gonzales and Ted Ginn, Jr. = touchdowns. Period.). My only concern with my team this year is replacing arguably the nation's best defense last year. What most people don't realize though, is that the guys who will be starting next year aren't new and already know the system. While it is a far stretch to say they will be as good as last year's crew, they will still be great.

I'm also excited for some big games: OSU at Texas, Michigan vs. Notre Shame, Notre Shame vs. USC, the annual Florida, Florida St. game, and many others.

So college football fans, what are your thoughts on the upcoming season? How has your team fared in the off-season? Any predictions you have?

Florida State did real well this year in the NFL draft. Had 4 players 1st round.

I think that Ohio State is going to have some trouble with defending the running game this year, especailly if you go up against some good scrambling QB's. AJ Hawk basically single handedly kept the game between OSU and Texas close last year by chasing Vince Young down everytime he ran. Losing ALL your starting linebackers is a major blow. I think you lost your good FS too if I'm not mistaken.

Gonna be a very interesting season for the Hogs. Whole new offense and offensive coaching staff. Defense has me worried, they better have their sh!t together after last year or heads will roll.

Those hoping to see Mitch Mustain suit up will probably be disappointed, though.

I can't wait; I am more of a college fan than a pro fan.

I hope to see Ryan Perilloux take the field a little this year. I still think JaMarcus Russel is the man though.

It definitely will be a challenge, that's for sure. Laurenitis stepped up big when it mattered most last year in the Michigan game and again in the Fiesta Bowl, plus we get 5th-year senior D'Andrea back after he has been pretty much gone the last two seasons with injuries. So we still have hope.

I'm a huge Clemson Tiger fan but enjoy watching pretty much all college football. I also am looking forward to the season and it's only May. I think Clemson will be better this year and has a real chance to contend for the ACC title. The schedule isn't all that bad - although there will be some tough conference games. Most of the starters are returning from last year except for the quarterback but I think both the offense and defense will show significant improvement.

Go big red!!!! I think the huskers will surprise a few people. just remember the blackshirst this year. if we could get our offense going we could be up there with the elite teams. lets see how we do. can't wait. sept. 16 against usc, should be a good game and of course the husker nation will be well represented out here in la la land.
