One of my favorite madden lines was when some team was at the goal line with literally 1 or 2 inches to go, and Madden goes something like, "Hey that's so close, it's not 3rd and inches, it's more like cubic inches!"

I'm going to miss him. I enjoyed listening to him call a game, you could tell he enjoyed his work.

His antics on the chalk board and Traveling around the country in his RV because he refused to fly all make him a memorable part of football on Sundays.

The whole explanation on how to win a game (to score more points than your opponent) was a sign that he was getting a bit old. Though he will still be missed.

I'll miss Madden he had a genuine love for the game and unique way of expressing and describing it. I remember one thanksgiving where he would call some guys the eating coach and talk about the turducken etc.

J.C. and the Eating Couch flatten the blitzing Doogie, BOOM!
Madden rolls out to the right avoiding the defensive attack!
Jack Straw is OPEN having run a perfect post pattern!

J.C. has recovered and makes a great open field block on Slyder a moment before he was going to drag down Madden from behind!!
Madden recovers his balance and fires downfield! The pass is caught! The PASS IS CAUGHT!"
