NBA Post season

Thought I would start a thread to get some predictions going.

Though I'm a Celtics fan, I think that without KG and Powe there chances are sadly all but gone. So, I'm gonna have to go with the Cavs over the Lakers 4 games to 2.

Re: NBA Post season

I'm enjoying the Bulls and Celtics series.... actually I've been enjoying watching Derrick Rose.

I'd like to see a Cavs and Lakers series, and would love to see LeBron get his first championship. I think Kobe, and Phil Jackson have enough rings. I actualy like the Lakers, I just want to see some one else win the championship, and the Cavs are due.

Interesting thing is the Cavs head coach was selected as NBA coach of the Year, the last five coaches selected as coach of the year have not won the championship.

I'm a Celtics fan, and its not looking too good, yet there is always hope.

I think the Cavs might win it this year.

Lakers are overrated.

Of course I'm a Rockets fan, they have been playing good lately but I don't think they can get pass the Lakers (who I really can't stand).

I think the Lakers will win it over the Cavs

They're still playing basketball? I guess I forgot since it's baseball season.

So I heard.

I MISSED THE GAME THOUGH!

I was told that the Bruins played that night and the Celtics the night after! BLASPHEMY! Would be really embarrassing if they loss to the bulls, even without KG and Powe. On a good note though Scal (Scalabrine) should be back soon after suffering 3 concussions within a few weeks of each other. Reminds me of the chargers old quarterback Stan Humphries. The poor guy would get sacked 15 times a game!

I hate the Lakers, hope they lose to the Jazz. They are a good team, but not great. Like I've said before, they barely managed to pull out a good amount of their wins by a few points over mediocre teams. Kobe is good, but like the Lakers overrated. I'd put Kobe in my top 5 active MVP in the NBA, but that's behind LeBron James, Dwayne Wayde, and Dweight Howard.

What annoys me about the Lakers, is that after watching a dozen or so of their games last year, the NBA is really trying to hype them up to be the "best" in the NBA. They want them to be the next dominating team in this era. I don't see it though, teams are too balanced these days in sports. Just kills me to listen to the commentators praise and glorify the Lakers during the entire game, and they don't even mention a word of the other teams. Its all about how great the Lakers are, if they are winning its about "how great the Lakers are playing", if they are losing its not because the other team is doing good its because "how poorly the Lakers are playing".

A lot of the calls in the Lakers game seem to favor the Lakers, it could just be that I'm biased, but a lot of other people I discuss this with tend to agree with me. The NBA, the refs, the commentators, they all hype up the Lakers as well as Kobe. NBA hasn't seen sales as good as the days with the Bulls as champions lead by Micheal Jordan. They are looking for the next Jordan, and they picked Kobe and they gotta stick with him. Which is unfortunate because I think LeBron has potential to be the next star of the NBA. Kobe is good, don't get me wrong, but I'd take LeBron over him any day. Not to mention I think Kobe is a real poor sport. He bitches and moans over every call that goes against him and his team, and cries when they don't call things he wants them to on the other teams. Wish we could hear the things he was saying, but you can just tell by the look on his face.

LeBron is a classy guy though. The best player in the NBA right now I would say. Hard to not think of Jordan when watching LeBron play. He just knocks down three's like they are going out of style, drives right up the throat of the opponents defense with easy layups, can knock down a jumper from anywhere inside the arch, and god forbid he gets on a break away or is 1 on 1 or he will dunk the ball with no regard to human life. Its not just about how he plays though. I think he conducts himself well both on the court and off the court.

He wasn't around when they decided to go with Kobe as the "poster boy" of the NBA, if he was I think we would be hearing his name much more than we do now, and that's saying a lot. Its pains me to see a classy player like LeBron take the backseat to Kobe Bryant. They are both great players, who is better varies on who you ask, I'd say LeBron. But there's no doubting the person with the better character is LeBron. Kobe is a poor sport during games, cries after games, and has done a lot of controversial and disgusting things like raping a woman, turning on Shaq and telling the Cops that he "Should just pay the woman to be quiet like Shaq does", swearing and doing inappropriate things during games. I remember during a game earlier in the season, may have been Christmas or Thanksgivings day since I was watching with my cousins, and they had the mic pointed at a huddle on the sidelines during a time out and Kobe just dropped double F bombs in there over live Televison.

Clearly I don't like the Lakers, I don't like Kobe, and I don't like how the NBA tries to glorify them as part of a marketing scheme to increase revenue.

Anyways.

GO CELTICS!
