Cards

What do ya know ... swept by the Cubbys, swept by the stros, swept by the Reds (note the small "s" all you texans). Cards are in 1st place all by ourselves. Gotta love those guys who draw up the schedule!

Re: Cards

I was in town and watched the Cards/Cubs series. I must say Pujols was a MONSTER. He is the real deal and a classy player. The Cards do look good this year. good luck this season it is long.

They're back if their pitching can hold up.

The Yanks seem to be doing good too. Do they even report baseball over there?

If I had AFN i would cath a game here and there and would get sports center and other stuff. I have Sky and they actually show football now on sunday evenings but the commentary is god awful.

Re: Cards

Cardinals have been playing damn good ball while my beloved Cubs have tanked big time. I knew they would miss Derek Lee but damn - they can't win a game anymore. There were only a couple games out of first when he went on the DL and now are knocking on the cellar. It's starting to get very old to say "we'll get 'em next year."

You all got a nice boost early by sweeping the Cards at Wrigley ... the birds can't seem to win there ...

Guess the June swoon came a little early this year. But, hey, still 3/4 of the season to go and anything can happen. Really don't think the Cards, Reds or stro's have this thing locked up. Who knows? Kerry Wood might give you a boost. On the other hand, it might just be the Brewers year.

Re: Cards

I don't guess I've given up but it's sure damn discouraging to go from being a couple games out of first to battling for the cellar in less than a month. Yes we will get a boost when Wood, Prior, and Lee come back but will it be too little too late? Somehow I'm starting to think so.

Re: Cards

Time for Baker to get the hook.
They better turn it around soon or I'm going to be one ugly fan in the bleachers when I go in June. I'll have an IV of Old Style put in at Murphy's before the game and let 'er run fully open all game.

Don't hold your breath. I like him and all but he's as fragile as a house of cards. They need to move him to first base or something to reduce the risk of injury. My guess is that he'll be out by the end of June with a pulled pancreas or he'll twist an ovary or something.

Yeah, you can thank the recent plummeting of the 'Stros. We'll be back though, this has become routine.
