Haha, I think I do have a pretty solid team but I couldn't declare it to be the best as of this second but I have a feeling I will do very well during the regular season but am worried about the playoffs (if I do get there)

Another awesome aspect of fantasy football is the fact it has got me into watching every game I have players in so I can check their stats (but I now enjoy more games than just my beloved Colts).

The downside of that is the extra cost...meaning Sunday Ticket and Superfan from DirecTV (but I did get an awesome discount and I can put in up to 2 fantasy teams and check ALL their stats with one button on the remote) freaking sweet!! The package is normally about $300 plus $100 for HD and the channel with 6 games at once (and online or via cell) but I got it for $210 because I asked nicely and got lucky!!

Re: Puff Fantasy Football News and Banter Thread

How do you propose we handle this?

You could always do a head to head bet or a a pick the top three and the con

I think a Pick-em" would be fun. Each week someone can e-mail out the match ups, you pick the winners of the 6 match ups most correct wins, maybe at a pick the spread in increments of 5. Ties split the pot. kind of a pain to send out a stick or more every week for 13+ weeks.

Maybe we track a one stick per week buy in, and keep track who owes and who wins and figure out the sending process. I'm sure with a little time we could figure something out. i.e. 13 weeks of reg FFL @ one stick buy in per week track total number of wins and losses depending on participants , at the end of the season someone could collect sticks then divvy them up based on Number of Wins. Would be fun but a little work and a lot more stick potential?

I think I confused myself

I'm in for a fiver, winner take all,"total points season".However Im not sure if yahoo tracks teams that dont make the playoffs. Really easy to lead league in points and not make the playoffs.

Re: Puff Fantasy Football News and Banter Thread

Honest evalulation of my team.

QB- Rodgers is goanna have a HUGE season 4500 yds 35tds, last year 4200yds 28 tds, first year starting
RB-LT reliable, will put up good numbers, healthy this year, even played a preseason game
-Mcfaddon- could breakout (weakest link)
Wr- CJ- HUGE season,1500yds 15 tds ,last year 1300yds 12tds for a 0-16 team, got much better QB's this year, Team looks a lot better offensively
-Santanna Moss -solid numbers, number one guy
TE- Whitton-Last year 900 yds 5 tds, No TO,now becomes Romos main target, Roy williams will suck, I seen enough of him in Detroit.
K-Keading gets a lot of kicks,solid
W/R- Got a bunch of solid guys on bench, wait and see what shakes out.
Def- This team could go to the superbowl, the Williams wall jams the middle like no other team can. Will be hard to score on. And I hate the ViQueens.

Solid Team, Has "potential to win it all"

I 'd give this team a B
because of the rb situation.

Re: Puff Fantasy Football News and Banter Thread

So now its 4 of us. tx_tuff, tmanqz, suretolose, and 8ball917. Anymore? This is what I was thinking. Each one of us puts in 5 cigars, if any of our teams win the winner take all the cigars. But because tamnqz had a different idea I can tune it some.

I don't like the idea of most points because to be honest its not about points but Ws. So each team puts up 5 cigars, if one of us wins the league then the winner takes all the cigars (well be 15 right now, 5 from the other 3 teams each). If none of us win it all then the one with the most wins takes all the cigars.

If anybody else is not scared to get in on this and we add more teams the total number of cigars goes up. Deadline to grow some nuts and join is the Wed before the first reg season game.

If tmanqz, suretolose, and 8ball917 agree then let me know, if anybody lse wants in then also let me know.

Have to disagree respectively. Wins are based on luck of the draw, matchups,injuries,weather.......blah,blah......... Ap going crazy......division your in.......
mainly the winner of the league will win on luck and a lot of it.

Points are based on preformance on a weekly basis, players who put up the numbers each week consistantly.
The best team doesnt always win.
Were talking the best team, the best team puts up the most points.
But thats just my opinion, which may get you a bus ticket, if your LUCKY.

Re: Puff Fantasy Football News and Banter Thread

I can go either way, but Tim brings up some good points that I agree with. Scheduling can sometimes really play havoc on a team. Last year in a 12 team league, I scored the 3rd most points overall, but I failed to make the playoffs because it seemed like every week my opponents blew up. Since the league winner is already guaranteed some smokes, maybe we should do most points.

However, like I said, I'm down for either.

Re: Puff Fantasy Football News and Banter Thread

I wouldn't say winning is all luck! You have to know what is going on, who is playing who, so that you can adjust players and bring players from the bench etc... Dealing with bye weeks, injury, etc.. The point being you don't have to have the best players or gain the most points through out the year to win. Otherwise why even play the games.

So after saying all that I see both ways but I withdraw my side bet. If somebody else whats to come up with something I will consider it.
