Big game for My Flyers tonight! Flyers-caps on Versus. The Flyers D has looked great so far, 2 shut down pairings, however a big test against Ovechkin.

Ha, I'll give you that it will be a good game. Both teams started off hot at 2-0, and ovechkin alread has 3 goals and 3 assists in 2 games. I think the Flyers D is up to the task and Emery is looking good so far. I'll say the Flyers win 4-2

I got it flipped 4-2 Caps.

A powerful O versus and new solid D will be a great match-up. What may come into effect is that Caps O has been together longer than the new additions to flyers D. The "chemistry" may be the deciding factor.

Oh and always remember

Great picture, Crosby is a ......!!! What a game that was! Ovechkin is the best player in the league by far. Some sloppy play on both ends but my Flyers won!

Re: Any hockey fans on here?

I was waiting for the CAps D to show. same issue as last year is apparent right now. Try to score more than the other team while sarficing solid defense. iw ould rather them win 1-0 then 6-5. Got the Rangers tonight...should be another good one. Fly-guys better smack Crosboy around. I think Pronger will get a peice.

Wild.

Lot of changes this year. New Coach.

Starting off a little slow and out of sync. We'll see if they gel. Should be an interesting year.

Re: Any hockey fans on here?

Ok so the NHL is erking me severely.and here’s my Rant

Why might you ask its simple? The NHL pro-penguins crappy refereeing conspiracy. Now I will admit the penguins have a very talented team, they have some great young players that have brought the franchise back from the brink of being moved out. However I feel, No I believe, there is an apparent favoritism towards the Pens (and some other teams) by the NHL and the Refs.

Consider this: Before the lockout The Pens franchise was going down the tubes. Enter the Lockout and nopw the Pens have the 1st pick in the upcoming draft, when they weren’t the woprst team the “previous season” The NHL retooled the positions via “lottery”, which allowed the pens to acquire Crosby (and eventually Malkin). Not to mention the lockout killed the momentum the league was building after a lackluster number of years.

Officiated seemed to favor the pens in some key games. I’m not saying it was the reason for them winning the cup, but the tale of the tape does show a slight bias. And worst off it seems it is starting again this season. The NHL refs are calling way too much, even the announces are picking up on it. (cited examples of calls in week 2 Caps - Flyers, and Flyers - Pens).

Throw on top Sidney “Cry Baby” Crosby. Great player very skill, great “field sense” but ruins it because he whines about calls and other player. I thought hockey was a manly game? What happened? Just shut up and play. He’s like the Tom Brady of the NHL

Now Crosby and other pens can whine all they want, but it doesn’t mean they have to get their way. The refs and the NHL need to show CONSISTANCY in the officiating. I referee boys lacrosse, now it’s not hockey (but its similar in some respects) I understand the importance of consistent calling. Sometimes it may up set someone, but the refs is the person in charge of the game at hand. In essence they can determine the outcome. But if they are consistant, the player will determine the outcome. So far this year, I’m not seeing it… And if that’s not enough just look at the Caps –Pens playoff last season. The NHL wanted that SOO bad for rating. And they made sure they got it.
