Re: Baseball cards?

HAD??? I still DO! I don't buy them anymore but have about 5/6 binders SLAP FULL of 80s early 90s baseball cards. The only cards I will buy now are either "wacky packs or garbage pail kids" CLASSICS lol! I got out of them when they went all "hightech" and started the acetate,motion,$7/pk BS.
Who knows how much I got in there..... Maybe aughta grab me a Beckitt and sell a few hundred off.

Re: Baseball cards?

Make sure you keep them in good condition. I saw a report recently that baseball cards are on the decline and soon will be a thing of the past. That sucks! I really loved flipping cards with my friends back in the day.

Re: Baseball cards?

Don't sell them now. Topps cards are in the dump right now. Wait and see if BB cards are going out. If so, I would suspect that would increase the value of them.

Re: Baseball cards?

I think K-mart bought a truckload of 88 or 89 Topps back in the day and they had the three pack strips on sale for like 2 or 3 for a buck' and others were rediculously low priced! I remember being a kid and going down the card aisle and 3/4 of it was those Red Topps packages/boxes everywhere. I would spend $5 everytime I went in there. My mom never minded bc it kept me quiet for a few hours marveling at my haul!
Back in the day, Id rather grab a pack of Topps, Score, or Donrus than a bag of candy...... (that chaulk on the gum must have been the reason for my cavities!)

Now you get 5 cards for $6/7 THATS ASSINIGN!!!!!

EXACTLY!!!

ATTENTION: From now on, the "kid in a candy store" saying has been replaced with: "A BOTL in a B&M".

They used to have a Card n Comic show at my local mall when I was younger. I always managed to get there one way or another. I had gotten a pack of Upper Decks a few days before the show and had gotten a Dion Sanders card that had him in two frames of running bases for the Braves and two frames of him in football uniform (Raiders?). It was basically 4 pics of him running in procession on one card and they lined up pretty nicely..... The card was worth $20 then right out of the pack.
I had spent my last $1 on a pack from a vendor there at the show. I was telling her about this card as I was opening up to see my cards, and she even confirmed the price in a recent price magazine. She said "I'll SCREAM if you pull one out of that pack............ Needless to say, She SCREAMed like a banshee!!! I still have those cards if anyone wants to make me an offer! lol

Re: Baseball cards?

I still have a ton of these at my parents and shoe box of my nice cards here. I would spend hours with the boys trading. At one time I had the entire 1987 Donruss set committed to memory. Wow did this bring back memories.

This is true. Except lets all hope those cigars don't devalue on worth like the Griffey rookie cards did. I have three of them

Also as we all know, anything from about 94 on is complete junk since they were extremely over produced.

Cheers,
Brad
