Hate to tell you, but the fight was last night...and Tito won with ground and pound elbows.

My feelings exactly.

Re: Shamrock Verses Ortiz in UFC

The first fight was cool! Dude must have lost a quart or two of blood.

Once the Shamrock/Ortiz fight was called, I thought it was total BS. I was outraged. Once the replays came on, and from different angles, Shamrock's eyes lost focus for a bit after the first or second elbow. Even though his hands were in the air, he wasn't defending himself. Another unrestricted elbow or two to the temple and he could have been killed. So looking back on it, I think the ref made the right call even though it wasn't a crowd pleaser.

Oh, I wanted Shamrock to win too, so I'm no Ortiz fanboy. We didn't even watch the last fight, we said screw it and went to the bar.

Yep! After Tito's 1st elbow landed Ken was hurt and never tried to cover to protect himself from the other 4 or 5. I believe the ref was Herb Dean. I agree he should have let Tito crush Ken's skull in so he couldn't cry about losing.

Shamrock left his hands stretched out because he was hurt and he wasn't coming back. He did the same thing when Franklin knock him out. Franklin caught him, he fell and never made a good cover allowing another 6-8 shots batter him.

BTW, a DVD is supposed to be released soon of Dana White and Ortiz sparring with Dana pretty much taking him to school. Dana is a former boxer and MMA fighter too.
Interesting! Dana has disliked Tito and has been a fan of Ken's. I think the way they both handled their role on TUF 3 may have changed that.

What could be more exciting than V. Silva coming to the UFC. [not a ?] This guy is one of the most explosive fighters of any weight class, dominates the 205 division and freely & effectively fights outside of his weight class. Great soccer kicks and stomps, which aren't legal in the UFC.

Liddell is going to have one of his toughest fights of his life against Silva. Though Liddell does have a shot at this. He is a tough fighter with great hands. Silva has a harder time with hands coming down the middle which Liddell can produce. Other than that I don't know what his game plan will be.

Here's some advice: If you are challenged to a fight by someone which falls at a different spot on the scientific evolution chart than yourself, you do not engage the primate.

Wanderlei went on a 4 year win streek while fighting several times each year.
