Re: NBA Draft

yes

I'm a Rockets fan. This draft is so screwy that I still don't know who I would pick for the Rockets even if we had the first pick... much less have any idea who will fall. There is a lot of speculation that Aldridge will fall but I don't think he is right for the Rockets.

If Toronto passes and goes for the European guy, I think Aldridge goes to the Bulls.

I think Tyrus Thomas is a Bull unless he goes first.

Re: NBA Draft

I think which ever of Thomas or Aldridge fall past the top 3 will fall possibly all the way to 10.

I am actually hoping that the Rockets get Sheldon Williams but I think he will go to Atlanta with the #5 pick. A couple other guys I wouldn't mind seeing them get is Morrison or Rudy Gay, most of the Rockets fans on the forum I visit (clutchfans.net) would like us to get Brandon Roy. This draft is a huge crap-shoot. I wish that we could have a high pick in next years draft without sucking all season .

Portland just traded Telfair to Boston for #7. This might dump the order a bit.

I hate the NBA but I will watch until the UFC fights. I like to see where my favorite college players will go.

That turd, Stern, has not improved the product in my estimation. I hold out hope that the Blazers can become respectable again. It is fun to catch a game live or relax with friends around the tube.

Rumor has it Portland is looking to move up to #1 for Morrison. This trade would make it easier to trade their #4 pick and a player to Toronto for the #1. The NBA draft is always so up in the air it is maddening (sp?)..

Re: NBA Draft

Word on the street here is that if Gay is available, Charlotte will take him. Otherwise, they like Morrison.

I would go to a game, but the new arena is downtown Charlotte and no way in Hades am I going there. The old Hive was very easy to get in and out of.

Re: NBA Draft

Portland would love to get Morrison but nobody know what "Jordan's" first pick will be for Charlote. I think he will pick one of Tyrus Thomas, Rudy Gay, or Aldridge.

This years draft is more up in the air than most due to the fact that there are no clear cut number one guys (Yao, LeBron) and definitely no clear cut number two's. Which means that the team on top may not even be looking at a guy that is projected top three and are looking to move down. Which creates a strange situation in which the teams below them are trying to keep them from moving in the hope that they will pick somebody with a lower projected value and a top guy might start falling. It is really a factor of the fact that this is a VERY weak draft.

Re: NBA Draft

My only interest is if UConn can get all 6 players in throughout the two rounds, as I don't watch the NBA

I'm tellin ya, if Gay is there, he will be picked. Otherwise it's Morrison. That is what is being reported on local sports radio for a week now. BTW, you would think by Jordon becoming a part of the franchise, folks here would like it. But nope! The overwhelming feeling is that he will doom the club. He is not even going to live here. I, for one, hope he does ruin them.

Re: NBA Draft

I'm interested in Morrison's future in the NBA, otherwise *yawn*.
I did hear noise about the 76ers trading Iverson for better positioning. Just rumors, I guess.

I think you are right on with them picking one of those two but there are a lot of opinions on which one. Gay is compared to Pippen and Morrison to Bird (I think both comparisons are way out of hand) but Jordan obviously respects both of those players games. IMO Charlote needs scoring more than athleticism and that means Morrison. Gerald Wallace can defend the opposing teams biggest perimeter threat and help to cover Morrisons defensive deficiencies.

We shall see in a few short hours.
