Re: MMA: Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva

Doyle, with you, Brent, and Greg all chiming in, Silva must be the real deal. I will check out the videos after my 2 games tonight, thank you for the links Brent. OK, no bets on Lidell, but that doesn't mean I won't root for him. Hope the UFC 62 has some better fights than last night's.... :s

Hehe, I tried to get you hog. Wanderlei is definately the real deal. But just like any fight Chuck does have a punchers chance. But no way I would bet on Chuck in this fight.

I'm a fan of both of Liddell and Silva, I would like to see Liddell win but I think Silva has the edge.

Of course the last 4 fights I have bet on I have lost , so take that for what it is worth.

Yup, as I said in another post, anything can happen in a fight. Troy Crowder beat Bob Probert....Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson....Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali....Lidell fans can at least hope....

Tom here is another link to a Wanderlei Silva clip. It's better imo than the others.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PW3Ug...derlei%20Silva

Like the end of the video says undefeated in 7 years with 40 fights. Chuck will be going to sleep! And UFC will be embarassed by PRIDE.

Had to add this too. Here he fights Fujita, also know as ironhead. This was the fighter Ken Shamrock quit on because he couldn't knock him out. If I recall correctly Fujita had never been knocked out to this point.

He is a great fighter. They featured the second fight with him and Rampage last night on Pride of FSN. Master of the knee knocked out Jackson again. The commentators mentioned that he has perhaps the most hate and rage of any fighter today. I believe too!

Re: MMA: Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva

everyone has to remember that when he (silva) fights in the UFC he will have to play by there rules he cant use his patented stomping on the head or kneeing a downed opponent. its going to be a standing war and i still give it to chuck ko rd 3 right before the buzzer

Care to wager a few sticks on the fight, if it happens?

What could be more exciting than V. Silva coming to the UFC. [not a ?] This guy is one of the most explosive fighters of any weight class, dominates the 205 division and freely & effectively fights outside of his weight class. Great soccer kicks and stomps, which aren't legal in the UFC.

Liddell is going to have one of his toughest fights of his life against Silva. Though Liddell does have a shot at this. He is a tough fighter with great hands. Silva has a harder time with hands coming down the middle which Liddell can produce. Other than that I don't know what his game plan will be.

Here's some advice: If you are challenged to a fight by someone which falls at a different spot on the scientific evolution chart than yourself, you do not engage the primate.

Wanderlei went on a 4 year win streek while fighting several times each year and against the toughest fighters they had to offer.

Yup, if Greg doesn't take all your action, I'll take Silva for sticks as well. I'd even be willing to bet on a stoppage and take a loss on a decision.
