He may not be able to do that.

But he can kick to the legs of Chuck, like he did rampage. Not to mention Kicks to the body and head while standing. And God forbid he hits Chuck with the knees. BTW he doesn't have to KO Chuck either cause he has superior ground game on Chuck. Chuck's a good fighter, but Wanderlei is out of Chuck's class. And trust me Chiuck doesnt want to stand with Wanderlei. Wanderlei KO'ed Fujita(do you know who Fujita is?). No way Chuck will win a stand up fight with Wanderlei.

But hey, if you want to put your sticks where your mouth is ,and Tom or Greg doesn't take you bet. I will happily relieve you of your sticks.

I really think everyone is underestimating chucks skills you have to remember he has been tested by the best the UFC has to offer he has only been beat by three guys two have been avenged. the only real test that wanderli has ever had is rampage.

I would disagree. Take a look at his stats on sherdog and you'll see hes fought many qualified fighters.

I think that Wanderlai will probably win, but don't count chuck out.

Wanderlei has beat Sakuraba (The Gracie Killer) who is an amazing fighter. Sakuraba is true world class. He's beat Guy Mezger who is also a great fighter, though Liddel beat Mezger. He beat Ricardo Arona who is on the top 5 of the "men you never want to fight let alone see within 100 feet of you. He almost broke Yuki Kondo neck, and Yuko Kondo is a great fighter, he has loss the last few fights he's had but he has beaten the best. Liddel hasn't really beat world class men like that. Yeah he ko'd Randy twice, but he was getting pretty old by then. And he did beat Vitor and Guy Mezger. Liddel has won against the UFC's best but the UFC's best arn't really all that great. Like comic said Wanderlei can still kick at chucks legs, and if he does chuck is going to be in a world of hurt, not only does Wanderlei kick super hard, Chuck is never really in all that great of shape so his legs will give out pretty quick. After he murders Chuck I want to see Wanderlei/Tito 2. If that happened I actually think...like 5% chance that he might actually kill Tito. (Not that I wish that to happen, just saying.)

You need to watch more Pride and K-1 stuff ,cause you haven't seen much more than the UFC it seems.

So Wanderlei hasn't fought anyone? Here's you a list of fighters he has fought and beat.

Mike Van Arsdale
Guy Mezger
Gilbert Yvel ( although not a win it was a No Contest but Yvel is not a nobody)
Kazushi Sakuraba (beat him 3 times)
Mirko Filipovic Crocop (was a draw, Crocop is one of the best in the world)
Hidehiko Yoshida ( beat him 2 times also)
Quinton Jackson ( beat him 2 times, both KO)
Ikuhisa Minowa
Yuki Kondo
Alexander Otsuka
Nakamura
Arona
Fujita (ironhead as he is known got knocked out)

Has Wanderlei fought world class fighters? You tell me!

UFC 25: Ultimate Japan 3 (4/14/00) in Tokyo Japan, Tito defeated highly regarded Brazilian fighter Vanderlei Silva by unanimous decision after five rounds to win the vacant UFC World Middleweight Championship.

Decision don't count as being defeated?

Chucks loss to Jackson was in 2003. Both fighters are better know and with UFC rules I think chuck has a good chance. If Silva does destroy Liddell then it will prove once and for all that Pride fighters are better.

I would like to see UFC and Pride merge together and see if any other UFC fighters can hang with the Pride fighters.

You are right Tito did get a dicision over him and Vitor Belfor TKO'ed Wanderlei. Both were long ago. That was UFC 25, the last UFC was 61 right? But like I have said before in this thread just let me know if you want to put your sticks on Chuck and I will gladly take Wanderlei. I have lost my last 4 bets on fights, so i am looking for a sucker to get some sticks back . Just let me know.

Pride is the Major Leagues and UFC is the Minors. Chuck tried the Majors once ,and decided to be a big fish in a small UFC pond. Now he can't run away anymore from "real" competition.

I'm not underestimating Liddell, he has heavy hands - great takedown defense - good chin with fast recovery & an uncanny ability to stand straight up, but this is a type of fighter he is not used to fighting. I like Chuck and love to watch him fight for those reasons and the fact that he is just a tough guy and doesn't fall into all the other BS around MMA.

Q. Jackson may make the top 5 toughest opponents of Wandy's, but he'd have to be number 5. Nothing against Rampage, love his style - Smash'em! Silva freely fights out of his weight class and fights the best of the heavyweights; Mark Hunt & Mirco 'Crocop'. Those two guys dominated K1 and now one a force in the heavyweight division of pride and the other is the champion.

This is going to an interesting fight.

Re: MMA: Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva

MMA is really getting popular. Here is a report from lordsofpain.net:

Positive news for the UFC 60 buyrate continues to come in, as the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter reports that new estimates have the show tracking at 600,000 buys.

Although UFC is extremely pleased with that figure, many (in both MMA and pro wrestling) are not completely shocked, as the feeling is that the Hughes-Gracie commercials were among the most effective promo videos for any fighting-related event in recent memory.

If the estimates hold, from a household perspective, about 40% of those who watch "The Ultimate Fighter" ordered the show. WWE shows rarely even approach the 20% level.

The figure would also greatly exceed the marks for UFC 59, which did just over 400,000 buys, and UFC 57, which did about 400,000. Figures for UFC 58 were not available at press time, but although the show did not perform in the 400,000-level, it did more than most expected.
