OK folks...I do this on another Web site as well as here in the office and it's always fun, so here goes!

NFL SEASON STARTS THURSDAY 9/7. For those of you who don't know what a Suicide Pool is, here it is:

Starting in Week 1 of the regular NFL season, each player picks one team to win that weekend. If that team wins, you advance to Week 2. If your team loses, you are eliminated. Here's the catch, or "Suicide" part of it: you can only pick any given team once. For example, if you choose the Patriots in Week 1 and they win, you cannot choose them again for the rest of the season. There is some strategy involved, but I will leave that to you.

Everyone MUST have their pick in by the night before the first game of the week. That way, I will have time to get the sheet with everyone's picks posted here so everyone knows who picked who, and also so everyone knows I don't change picks.

Entry is 2 Cuban cigars per player. Last person standing wins it all, and at which time everyone will send their prize.

In the case of every player being elimintated at one time, we will take a league vote on how to find a winner. For example, we get to Week 10 and have 3 players left and they all lose. There are 2 choices I can think of off the top of my head:

1) The person who's team lost by the least amount of points wins.

2) Every player in that week is re-entered for the next week.

The 2006 NFL schedule can be seen here. Yahoo also has a good site they use for the odds of each game, but obviously those won't be available until the season starts, but once that is up I will post it.

This contest will be handled entirely by PM. Get your pick to me before the first game of the week via PM. If I don't receive your pick, you will be disqualified. This thread will be updated with info each week as necessary.

If you wish to take part in this friendly contest, simply post here stating so. Once we get closer to the season I will post a list of all the contestants as well as the spreadsheet I will use.
