In Ohio, things weren't so calm. The win kicked off a wild celebration back in Columbus with reports of fires, injuries and arrests. A fire battalion chief said more than 30 fires were set, mostly in trash bins and couches left outdoors.

Disappointing...as promised...I retract my statement in my response to smokeydog.

If I take anything positive from the story it's that true fans who went to the time and expense to travel to Texas showed class in their post-game celebrations.

Thanks for the post Stacey.

well you'll have that, i wouldn't have posted it if i didn't think it were true. it's a shame a bunch of punks ruin a good time for most people. i think OSU is a great gameday experience, but after the game get the hell out of dodge. i really think it is to the point they need to come down on these kids hard.

I hear ya. Things tend to be a bit laid back around there. I dunno if it is the huge police force or just the culture. I was worried about last years win and what people might do. Just a lot of fun and little problems. The loss this year I was once again worried that bad things would happen and things stayed calm.

What I liked about the story was this " "You guys have great fans. We sat in the Texas section and they were giving us high fives and everything," OSU fan Josh Coulter said " Fans enjoying a game and just having fun. That is what it is supposed to be about. OSU did not rub it in and UT did not take it badly. Was fun all the way around. Can not wait for the next game those 2 teams play.

The Longhorns had nothing to lose, IMO. Yes, McCoy didn't look too hot, but what type of performance can you expect from a freshman playing in one of the biggest games of the year after only one start? Vince Young left some pretty big shoes to fill and everyones looking for an answer. The 'Horns will bounce back in due time.
