Unhappy Schumacher is Retiring

Well, after much speculation and guessing; the announcement has been made. I was little choked up hearing MS saying he was hanging up racing gloves. What else is there for him to accomplish outside of getting seriously injured? Also sound like Kimi will be replacing him, but he did not mention Kimi by name? I thought that was odd. Either way- MS is the greatest Grand Prix driver ever, and next season won’t be the same.

I think Senna and Prost were better drivers. Schumi just had a dominant car that was way ahead of the rest of the competition.

Remember, he won with Benneton and Ferrari were not in the position they are now when he first joined.

Was that the year he crashed into Damon Hill to take him out of the race to win the championship?

Kind of like how Senna crashed into Prost to win his first

Re: Schumacher is Retiring

I listend to a story on him yesterday on the radio. It is my understadning that he was not well liked by many of the other drivers. Respected but not well liked. Many that they interviewed said he would do just about anything on and off the track to get a win. Was stunned to hear how much he was worth. I think they said he was 37 and to have made that much money is amazing.

Ya, he's a bastard, but when you are driven to win as much as a champion like him is, winning take precendence over class.

Tiger and Schumacher are the top earners in sports, and there has been a few years where Schumacher is number one.

Schumacher is a cigar smoker.

Re: Schumacher is Retiring

Since Shumi will be leaving, who do you think will take his place as the king of F1?

Kimi shows many moments of brilliance and Alonso is an excellent driver as well. Either one of those would get my vote.

Regarding MS, I consider him one of the best ever. However, I think he would have had a bit more difficulty in attaining so many titles if Mika did not retire as early as he did.
