Anthony, I don't think they really gave up too much. The trade was within 10 point on the draft value cart. Basically they swapped their low 2nd for a low 1st. They gave up a 3and a 4. The 7 is pretty much irrelevant. They still have 5 picks left, 4,5, 6 and 2- 7s and still have an extra 3rd next year from the harvin trade. More importantly they got 3 guys they really wanted rather than waiting to take what was left. The team has loads of upside now. They still have enough fire power to move around on day 2and 3 and filled 3of their 4 giant holes. They could still draft someone or sign a summer fa at MLB. It seems they have a solid starter or young guy with upside at nearly every position.
How they pan out is up in the air, of course, and Ponder will have 2013 to prove he is a starter, but for what they needed 5 hours ago they pretty much nailed it. This is the best draft I can remember them ever having.... I'm very excited even though I know it's all kind of a crapshoot.
