Re: Nothing short of assault charges needed!

The guy should be arrested for assault, this should not be compared to A-rod. It's more like the guy from the NHL that assaulted the other guy with his stick. He was arrested and charged if I am not mistaken and banned from the NHL for life. I could be wrong about this.

Re: Nothing short of assault charges needed!

So here is my prediction of his penalty:

Suspended 10 games (after Union gets it knocked down from 12)
No pay during the games
Anger management classes
Charges dropped in court or 100 hours of community service

Don't get me wrong, what he did was stupid/child-like/career-threatening. That being said, we've all seen worse in the league (Romo roid-rage blinding of practice squad teammate ring a bell?) but players have still played. I got a box of Cremosas on it, any takers?

Humm, what did happen to Vicks younger thug brother for stomping and trying to break the leg of the UL player? He was given the chance to play in the NFL.

But in his defense, it was a Cowboy who's head he tried to stomp in

Anything short of four games will be horrible. Making him sit out the rest of the season without pay would be a great thing. I would not be suprised if he is released. His coach looked pretty pissed off. He even yelled at Fisher when he was coming off of the field.

As long as you're a good football player you will be given a chance in the league, no matter what you've done. Hainesworth will serve a suspension and be back to playing for the Titans

I guess the Titans have bigger problems.
They need to find a football team this year.

Drudge has a story on this guy today. He realizes that what he did is wrong and expects to be punished. No $hit. Coach is also talking about punishing him on top of what the NFL does to him.

Crazy...

No where NEAR as blatant/extreme, but did anyone see one of the Bengals hit one of the Pats wide receivers? Pretty clear he was trying to do more than just stop him.

That brings up a tough issue for me. Growing up a Niner fan in the 80's, (I know ) I loved watching Ronnie Lott terrorize receivers over the middle. I know there is a lot of money involved now a days, but what is too physical? What if we loose something from the game? That shot was crushing no doubt, yet isn't that what football is? I'm sure it will be on an official NFL highlight real.

I had a Running Back who threw a few chop blocks at me in High School. He was trying to take me out of the game because I had sent their QB to the hospital. THe Offensive Lineman would hold me and the running back would come through the and try to hit me in the knee. After the third time, when leaving the field. I complained to the ref about the crap he was pulling, but the ref was a hometowner of the team and said it was part of the game. I was later told by a friend on the other team, that the coach told them to take me out and said that was how to do it.

On the next series, I had a clean shot at him. He was trying to cut back from another defender but did not see me. Usually I would have went high and maybe tried to knock the ball loose. Instead I went low at his knee, like he was doing to me. I heard a pop. He tore just about everything in his knee and needed major reconstructve surgery. He would have been better off if I broke his leg.

THe ref said something to me and I told him that he should have called them on the chop blocks.

I will admit was a dirty player. I would usually to go after my blocker with a forearm to the chin or a slap on the side of the helmet. But that time was the only time I ever tryed to hurt somone on the field intentionally. And given the circumstances, I cannot say that I would not do it again.

Re: Nothing short of assault charges needed!

5 game suspension is what I just heard on the radio. He should be suspended for the entire season at a min.
