Joe,
Have you gone mad?
That is the "A-Rod Fan Club President" you are referring to.

Dude, it was just a simple comparison, no need to get your panties in a bunch just because I was taking a shot at one of your precious yankees. It was a simple joke leave it at that. I dont want to get in another argument with you over the yankees. Its obvious that I dont like you and you dont like me

Re: Nothing short of assault charges needed!

I agree that five games is nowhere near enough. When you need 30 stitches to close a wound on your head, and you get a five game suspension amounting to something like $500,000 in salary for the player, something is wrong. Civilian life you go to jail. You would be doing hard time. At the pound me in the gerbil-catcher type jail. Not sitting in your mansion. This is about as bad as I have seen in any game, hockey fights included. Out and out assault on a defenseless guy on the ground.

Holy crap!!!
Didn't know that.
It took 30 stitches to sew him up?
F... that!!!
You intentionally stump on my head to take me out and leave me with 30 stitches, no way I am letting you off with 5 games without pay. You still owe me big time and a couple of knee caps will work out just fine as a fair trade.

How exactly is that comparison a joke? I'm sorry, but hearing the term "bush league" doesn't make me fall out of my chair laughing. Or anybody else here it seems.

I have no issue with you personally. I don't dislike you at all, just some of the dumbass things you keep saying.

That doesn't answer my question. Why is it ok to run over the catcher to knock the ball out but not a pitcher. And try to answer this pretending it wasn't Arod who did it. Is beaning players a part of the game? Was it supposed to be? Are drugs a part of the game? Where they supposed to be? Just a few hypothetical questions about was is "part of the game."

And enough of the broken record about Arod. We all know you hate him. You've stated it in 1500 of your 1800 posts.

Its ok to run over a catcher who is standing in the basepath because runner has precedent to the base. If the catcher is on the line he is therefore in the line to the base and the runner is allowed to run him over. Yes beaning players is part of the game. I do it, all pitchers do it. There are several reasons why it is part of the game.

Was the pitcher in the base path when Arod swatted his glove.

Disclaimer: I am not a Yankees fan or a Red Sox fan however I have sincerely wondered this for two years now. Thanks.

No he was not, as a pitcher it is there job to run to the line, then run parallel towards the base, touching the inside of the base with your right foot. Bronson was clearly on the infield side of the base and Arod just slapped the ball for no reason what so ever.

First off, I live in Mississippi, I am not a fan of either. Second off, this was directed at sf182 because it was tiresome to read it over and over.

If a picher got in the basepath, could the runner hit him like he was a catcher or would he be called out?

Textbook analysis. That is what every pitcher is taught to do. This could almost be likened to a player trying to catch a fly ball in front of the other teams dugout, and everyone in there yelling I GOT IT. Sure technically it's not against the rules, but these guys are professionals and it is what it is. BUSH LEAGUE.

Again these two instances are not even close. Laying out a catcher is something you see every so often. It doesn't happen nearly as much as it could, but it happens. How many times have you seen a baserunner try to slap a ball with their hand since this one? Beaning players is also very much a part of the game, I know I do it. It is less a part of the game now that these guys make millions and careers are at stake, but some of the true "Old School" guys will put you on you A$$ if you violate one of the unwritten rules. Sorry, I love baseball and get fired up about stuff like this.
