Who's ready for some post season baseball?
I don't know about the rest of you, but i'm really pumped about this years post season matchups:
Yankees/Tigers - I think this will be the most one sided matchup. The tigers played well all year, but they just don't have good enough offensive production and their stellar pitching is tired. Finished the season losing their division and on a five game slide. Worse yet, their season ended with a sweep from the miserly royals, a feat only repeated by the slumping red sox earlier in the year. Twins/A's: Much closer matchup. Twins finished red hot, but both teams pretty evenly matched. Good young pitchers on both teams, but the Twins edge them out offensively. I do believe that the Twins gonna edge the A's out. Dodgers/Mets: Sorry dodgers fans, but I think the Mets are gonna slap you around! Even with pedro down, the Mets boast solid pitching and much better offense. Cards/Padres: Harder to call. I think both teams evenly matched, but I like the Padres better so I hope they win. Mostly cause I remember the last time the padres and yankees met in the post So much good baseball! Gonna be channel surfing tonight! ![]() |

Re: Who's ready for some post season baseball?
I am pumped myself for postseason baseball. A's vs twins start it up at 1:00 ET on ESPN. I am not rooting for anybody in particular, I just want to see some good baseball.

Afraid my Cards may get knocked out early. But, hey, anything can happen in a 5 game series. We'll see.
Anyway, I'm with you ... ready for some good baseball!

Re: Who's ready for some post season baseball?
I believe this is going to be one of the better post seasons in recent history. There is a case for every team to win it(except the Cards, "What happened to them?")

Re: Who's ready for some post season baseball?
Tigers all the way, I would say Twins if they had Lariano but since he went down the only pitcher they have is Santana. Their offense is alright but not enough to carry them to the WS. Mets are still the front runners in the NL but the Padres could make a strong showing. Cards lost a lot of momentum going into the playoffs by losing a lot the last two weeks of the season.

Re: Who's ready for some post season baseball?
In the past two seasons the Cards have done great in the regular season and fizzled out in the post season... Maybee this year since they have been poor in the regular season they will be spectacular in the post season?
Yeah I know, wishfull thinking but GO CARDS!

Only two reliable starting pitchers. No closer. No cleanup hitter. But, you know, baseball is a funny game. Anybody can get hot. The Cards are certainly due for a hot streak.
