Everything comes to an end and it's time for Torre to go. He'll be in the HOF for what he did while manager of the Yanks but it's time for change.

Re: ...Yankees.....

So, here's a question for you - which bright young star is gone- trader for which broken down old pitcher that use to be great.

Who could have done a better job than Joe Torre with absolutely no pitching staff. He has one starter that he can depend on after September 1st and no middle relief. I just don't think that you can count on scoring 10 runs in every game - no matter how good your offense might be on paper.

The Yankees won't win a post season series until they address their pitching. Pinella has absolutely no patience with young pitchers - if the Yankees sign him as manager - look for Boston to be back in the playoffs next year.

Alcohol has rendered my memory useless after 5 years. So I do not remember anything before the Diamondbacks winning the series

Honestly why does anybody think Torre is a HOF manager? If anybody deserves credit for the Yankees winning 4 world series in 5 years, it belongs on the shoulder of 2 people. #1 Buck Showalter and #2 and most importantly Gene Michael. They built that team which was self-sufficient, and could win on its own. I don't remember too many of Torre's decisions that ever worked out to help them, sure put Mo in to close everybody down... Not very difficult... Name a pitching change that he made not involving Mo that actually ever worked... How many times did he decide to pitch to David Ortiz? How, when all you have to win is one game in four do you try and win all of them and waste your bullpen instead of stacking the deck for one game? I don't know why everybody thinks this guy is a great manager, cause I sure know before he got here he was "clueless Joe."
What the Yankees really need it to cut ties with him, Brian Cashman, and for the sake of Yankee fans, root for Steinbrenner to become less active with baseball decisions, because all of pressure he has put on Cashman to get an allstar at everyposition instead of developing talent like they did in the mid 90's has destroyed this team.

Re: ...Yankees.....

I wasn't happy at all!!!! Don't want to see Torre go. He can't hold a gun to the players heads and say "hit the ball or else!!".
I would LOVE to see Steinbrenner release Rodriguez! The shock of it would make the history books!!! He doesn't mesh well with the team!!!

[QUOTE=yachties23;540861]Honestly why does anybody think Torre is a HOF manager? IfQUOTE]

It's simple. He's Managed a team that won 4 World Series in the Wild Card/Division Series Era.Not even the greatest of Manager's and that includes Mcarthy, Stengel and Huggins can touch that. He's a lock for the HOF. Period. End of Story.
