That is GM speal for we are currently looking for a trade.

I wonder if SF182 would welcome him to the Redsoxs?

No I would not, I hate him and would harass the hell out of him if he ever was a red sox

Well, like everywhere he has gone since Seattle, he would be an upgrade to the position, but a downgrade to the team.

I dissagree. He'd fit right in with the BoSox. He's not the best 3rd baseman ever, but he consistently cranks out impressive offensive numbers every season.

And it's not like you'd have to worry about his post season numbers if he played for the Sox

Defense is an important part of the game. I am sure you have noticed that every time a runner goes from First to third on every single hit towards Damon!!!

A-Rod just seems to cause issues in the clubhouse wherever he goes. The best situation for him is a market where people are not passionate about the team all that much. Too bad the Expos left Montreal. That would have been a prefect fit!!!

That's not always the case. And he's a grinder, puts up solid numbers:

Season Stats
G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB BA OBP SLG
149 593 115 169 35 5 24 80 25 .285 .359 .482

He and Jeter are the best 1-2 punch in baseball

Well, not the best 1-2 punch in October.

I think that has a lot more to do with Jeter than it does with Damon. Damon is a good leadoff man and had a nice jump in power numbers thanks to the new lefty friendly stadium.

But I was talking about his defense, not his offense. He will make the occasional great running or diving catch... but he has a weak throwing arm that teams like to test. While it might not hurt them too much against a slugging team like the Red Sox, it will hurt them against teams that manufacture runs.

I hear. He does have a weak arm, but he isn't the worst fielding CF i've ever seen. he does ok.

And yeah, a lot of his numbers are pumped because of Jeter. But I could say the same thing about papi and manny too.

Well, it is the Right FIeld at Yankee Staduim that gave him the power burst. Papi as a Yankee would be good for 60-70 home Runs. Fenway is not a great park for left handed hitters.

Well, 11 of his HR's were hit on the road. Only two extra hit at Yankee stadium. It helps some for sure, but he belted 20 for the sox, and 18 as a royal before.

Damon is getting old, his arm is very weak his speed is starting to decline, granted his ba is still around .300 but hes past his prime.

But Damon did have a much better season than the often injured Captain Crunch, oops, I meant Coco Crisp Hopefully he will be healthy for next season.

They are getting Damon on the downside of his career, but he probably has a good year or two left. UI think the price is a little high, but the Yankees do not mind overpaying.
