ACC Basketball---Never to Early to Start Talking about 06-07 Season

ACC Football is extremely down this year....thank God Basketball is just around the corner. It's not too early to begin talking about the upcoming season. In fact in about 3-4 weeks the season tips off.

I know my NC State Wolfpack is NOT destined for anything but the bottom this year and the only NCAA tournament action they'll see is when they sit in front of the plasma and watch it with the rest of us! Sidney Lowe is NOT the answer in case anyone is interested to know!!!

Who do you think is going to rise to the top this year? UNC Tarheels are getting the most ink and many think Roy could have his second National Champion team in 3 years! Of course, Duke and Coach K will have a lot to say about that, though.

Okay BOTL....let me have your take on who it is going to be in the ACC this year. Not an ACC fan....who's your pick to take it all this year?

I'm a Duke fan but the Tarholes will be very tough this year. I'm looking forward to the season. Anybody But Carolina! (ABC)

NCST -- Probably not too good
Wake -- nothing spectacular
FSU -- Improved but still too up and down
GT -- always scares me, they will be good
Maryland -- They should be decent
UVA -- Another improved team but lack tallent
VT -- Not that bad, but too up and down
BC -- another decent team
Miami -- will pull upsets and suprise a few teams
Clemson -- Should be improved but you never know.

I can't wait for the 'Heels to start playing. Pure talent across the board. Just very young. They have a very good chance this year but it would be nice to see them if Hansbrough returns for next year.

I am a born and bred Tarheel. Just tranplanted myself in Maryland 12 years ago, now I have to say I am a Terp fan. But I remember growing up in my house. Everything was Carolina Blue and Dean Smith was God! We have UNC and NCSTATE Grads in my family.

My nephews first words were "Beat Duke"

-UNC is going to have some crazy talent. just not sure if theyre going to make it work. i don't forsee them winning the NC.
-Duke will be solid as always, McRoberts is gonna step it up and be big this year.
-i'm excited to see thaddeus young though. ga tech should also be pretty flashy.
-not sure elsewhere:WF showed some promise, and i'm not sure on what BC could do losing dudley and smith. Sean Singletary will be awesome this year.

-early favorites: Florida, easily with the talent they have returning. Kansas is number 2 in my mind.

Now that is some mighty fine upbringing for that young man!

If Psycho-T has another year like last year....he's gonna take the money and run. Hate to say it, but, its the era we now live in. An absolutely awesome talent for the Heels, and with what Ol Roy has brought into the fold, theres enough solid talent around him that he may not face all the double teams. I look for a big year from him....but, I still say ABC!

Gotta have Ohio State in there as well. Greg Oden is just head and shoulders above the rest.

STOGS---Brother, i went to Maryland and love them Terps (Fear the Turtle), but, I'm just not so sure they're where they quite have the talent for making a run this year. Perhaps I'm still a little bummed from last years disappointing season.

Yea I know...it'll take a couple seasons to get back to where we were a couple of years ago...But I hope both me and you are wrong.

hey should be awesome, but i can't buy into him yet. i want to see him do something first. i've seen a lot of people pick Wisconsin over tOSU in the Big10 this year. i'm leaning with them for now. they have some sick talent coming in behind oden, and i think if oden should decide to stay for whatever reason, they'll be far above everyone else for the '07-'08 season, regardless of what should happen this year.

al two...concur that proof is in the puddin with Oden. Going to have to show something on the floor against better, faster, stronger competition than the high school and AAU. Sounds like he is going to be a man amongst boys, but there have been many McDonald's AA's that are sitting home these days and punching a time clock. Thought I read somewhere that he's pretty much already said he's one and done this year. Still have to like what tOSU has put together.

yeah, the chances of him stayin are basically zilch. if not for that new rule, he would have gone to the Association, and probably would have been picked first. he can very easily run through the competition this year. i just remember a couple months ago people not shutting up about how Oden will be the best player in the country in due time. those talks have died down a little bit with Hansborough getting better and the whole Joakim Noah thing last spring.

Basically, i just want to see him be dominant rather than say it. Just like there are busts drafted from college to pro, high schoolers going to college can underacheive in people's minds.
