Miami/FIU Brawl

Did you see that! Biggest, nastiest and crazy-azzed football brawl I have ever seen. 13 Miami players suspended for the next game. 18 FIU players suspended. Several of them should be in jail, imo. Swinging wildly with helmets and stomping on people on the ground and one FIU player was swinging crutches.

Coker's job is safe, for now. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2628132

The funniest part is that the Dade Co Sherrifs Dept brought hundreds of kids to the game because of their "Join a team, not a gang" program!

What was great was the commentator Lamar Jones. He was saying don't come into our house talking smack. I was getting ready to get in the elevator and join in. Real class act.

Re: Miami/FIU Brawl

Sean Salsbury and Dick Vitale ripped those players a new one and ripped the Miami program pretty bad, well deserved ripping though. Fight made for good entertainment but was rediculous. If someone did that on the street they would be in handcuffs, same should have been done with the players.

Re: Miami/FIU Brawl

Yeah, what an embarrassment that is for both schools and the city of miami. Let me say a few things regarding the incident. I am a die hard UM fan and I went to school at FIU. From what some friends that were at the game told me FIU's fans were starting shit all night, there was alot of tension on there side, including the players. They are the ones that had to prove they can hang with Miami. Remember, alot of these kids grew up with each other. Anyways, in my opinion many of these kids should be suspended for the rest of the year. And, the commentator was Lamar Thomas who played for ''the U'' in the early 90's. This is his first year doing commentary and should be his last. What a freaking idiot !

Re: Miami/FIU Brawl

Everyone involved should have their scholarships permanently voided and be suspended for at least the remainder of the season. This is what happens when street punks play sports. Unfortunately Maurice Claret is a perfect example of this.

Is it just me or are football players getting dumber? When I played football and a fight broke out we kept our helmets ON!

I remember Thomas now from the runup to the 92 (92) Sugar Bowl game. He had plenty of ability, but his mouth stood out even then. You're right, surely Miami can find a former player to call their games with more class than Thomas.

The brawl WAS pretty ugly, and frankly, I would think that criminal charges against at least a few players probably should be considered; some of that stuff was a lot worse than the run-of-the-mill shoving and punching. Swinging helments, stomping on people...

Especially since he has a criminal record and likes to beat-up women.

Re: Miami/FIU Brawl

Ever since the Louisville game Miami played when they ran out onto the field and stomped on the Louisville logo, I have been sorely and completely disappointed in U of M. I will no longer support a bunch of classless and ignorant thugs like the University of Miami. Screw them, they should disband that program and allocate the money for something else.

Go Gators!!
