A loss for sure, but the Bears defensive roster is deep. I just feel bad for Brown, he won't even be healthy soon enough for the playoffs.

I like Mike Brown, I really do (shut up icehog!) It seems like he is Mr. Everywhere.. Even back in 01, it seemed like he was on every fumble, every batted ball turned into an interception.. I agree though, the bears defense is deep. This may just mean that Grossman has to do some scoring, instead of relying on Brown. (you know i had to take one shot!)

Nah, that's fair...Rex will need to step it up, last week wasn't a stellar game for the offense ( nor the D in the first half).

WOW sorry to hear that, I tore al 5 ligamens in my left knee in 98 and now have a tore ACL in my right, that's nothing to play with.

I would rather lose Brown than Urlacher, Briggs, Tommy Harris or even Hunter Hillenmeyer. Yeah Brown may be the defensive captain, but stat-wise he was not too impressive this season.

it really hurts losing brown, he runs the DB's. we have depth, but nobody in the same league as brown. we get mccowen back either this week or next. if he is healthy i think tood johnson will be on the bench. look what happened against carolina last year. that is what happens when brown is not in the game.

What happened last year against the Panthers was not because Brown was hurt. It was because the Bears were too arrogant to double cover Smith. Smith is the only weapon that Carolina has on defense and the Bears concentrated on the run.

Same thing happened this past Monday. Fitzgerald gets hurt, so the only weapon the Cardinals have on offense is Boldin, but do the Bears double-team him...noooooo!. Boldin should have never the saw the light of day. All he should have saw was Bears jerseys. How are you going to let the only weapon on the team get 10+ catches...ridiculous.

Can't blame that on Todd Johnson. That was a coaching decision to single cover Smith. A bad decision IMO.

Todd Johnson is not Mike Brown, but he is a very serviceable NFL safety.

thats true, but if you listen to lovie in the post game conference. he said he thought tillman could handle smith. bad mistake. the last touchdown he blamed the DB for falling down and johnson for blowing coverage for not helping. i think when Mccowen gets fully heeled from his knee surgery he will be the starter. it also hurts because chris harris is also out with a injury.

DaBears have the fomula to win it all this year. Great defense and a decent offense. Seems to be the correct formula for championships in the last 10 plus years. Pat's, Raven's, Buc's, Steeler's. If you can run the ball and stop the run your aleast a consistant playoff team. Keeps the Colts out of the big one every year, great offense, soft defense.
