Re: BCS Games Selections

Florida and Ohio St would seem to be a lock. Better TV ratings, and that's important. Probably more important than it should be, but this whole deal has always been about revenues for the most part.

And if they instituted a playoff system they could probably make even more dough. They get lucky often enough to not fix the only organized sport, college or pro without a playoff system. Sets them apart from fairly sensible systems that work. Every once in awhile you get that BYU champion back in the mid 80's that leaves everyone shaking their collective heads. Remember they beat a 6 and 6 Michigan team 24-17 that year to win it. Amazing.

Congrats to Florida...not sure if it's going to be a close game, but time for our Tigers to start focusing on some Irish meat!

Re: BCS Games Selections

The selection totally sucks for Michigan. I feel sorry for USC because they're probably going to take it out on them

Re: BCS Games Selections

A playoff system would be the most logical, but then we might have two teams without the most profit potential. Yes, I think the TV/advertiser beancounters are thrilled with the status quo. Money. Like the coach of the North Dakota St Bison said yesterday evening after beating 8th ranked Marquette....."We don't get a March. That thing CBS holds at the end of the year...we don't go".

It should be a good game though.

Re: BCS Games Selections

I'm pissed...we got booted out of the Rose for some underrated USC team that lost TWICE to unranked teams...at least LSU lost to two teams that were ranked in the top 5 on an away game...total Bullshit...USC should be playing "Blow-****ing-Balls" Bowl...IMHO LSU got over looked once again for subpar teams. It should have been Michigan and LSU or USC vs. LSU...god damn this bullshit system. Now, I get to watch a repeat of last years game against Miami....LSU 53 and ND 3

I hope a playoff system happens eventually -- although it won't be 16 teams because the season would be too long. An extended season with playoff hype and games would generate some serious revenue.

Re: BCS Games Selections

I'm going to watch the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl. Where DIII football is alive and well in a tried and true playoff system.
