Re: Bill Cowher Retires....

So the question is. Will Bill replace Bill after the 07 Season? He is going to sit out at least one year and The Tuna will be back with the Boys for at least one more year.

I would call it "resign". He will resurface in a year or two, imo.

That may depend on what is open and how much money. He doesn't strike me as one that would work for JJ.

With any luck we can get him to the sunny confines of beautiful San Diego. With the youth that they have now and the bright future who could resist. A.J. Smith is getting tired of Shottenheimer as are most of us.

True on the money. But I think the Tuna does one more season then calls it quits. Leaving the Cowboys open for him. As for him working for Jones...The same was said about Parcells. You never know. He could end up in Philly or even Cleveland. I think it is a safe bet that Jones will go after him.

If not him then I wouldn't doubt if Jones went after Sean Payton . I think it is going to be very hard for the Saints to keep Payton when all the Big $$$ offers start rolling in.

Cleveland very well may have retained their present coach with that in mind. It will be interesting to see what does happen.

I'm a Jets fan and all I can say is... he was one classy-a$$ coach.

Either him or Ken Whisenhunt would do fine. I think it will be Wisenhut though; I think he had some heavy duty prospects he passed up on to take this position for one more year. Whoever it is, I am sure they will find a fit. The Rooneys have experience in that. My only qualification is a coach that will keep Big Ben away from motorcycles.

I doubt it, I think it's a chapter in his life that is over. But never say never; Joe Gibbs returned to Washington.

Re: Bill Cowher Retires....

My thoughts on Bill Cowher...and pure wishful conjecture:

-Bill Cowher has just built a brand new 7500 square feet, several million $$$ home in Raleigh, NC--FACT.

-Bill Cowher is a NC State University graduate, + wife went to school there.

-Tom Coughlin is NOT a rousing success nor is he adored in NY with the Giants.

-Coach John Fox of the Carolina Panthers came to the Panthers from the Giants and was very successful and well-liked as their Defensive Coordinator. Plus, he has definitely been a solid coach for the Panthers, rebuilding the team from the disaster that George Seifert left them.

-MAYBE, just MAYBE...Fox may be considering going to NY to take over the Head Coaching position for the Giants.

-Then, Bill Cowher swoops into Charlotte and takes over the Panthers.

-Carolina Panthers then become a dynasty winning the next 14 of 15 Super Bowls before Bill Cowher retires and runs for Govenor of the State of North Carolina.

Hey...its my fantasy---I'm welcome to it! I love John Fox as the Panthers Head Coach, but Bill Cowher would be a fantastic pickup for them!!

Interesting scenario, the only problem is........the Panthers are in Charlotte, not Raleigh! oopsy!

I don't see Cowher making that drive now. I see him chillin' in Raleigh watchin' NC State lose Football and b-ball games. Go UNC!!
